According to a representative for Heidi Montag, the split from her husband Spencer Pratt is for real!
The spokesperson said, "Heidi is going through a difficult time and hopes people respect her privacy."
Whats more, the 23-year-old reality TV star was said to have been devastated when news of the split was reported, because she hoped it would remain a secret.
Yes, Heidi Montag wanted to keep something from the press.
"She was bummed that it came out. She wanted things to be more settled first," claimed a source.

In a shocking and totally unforeseen PR stunt turn of events, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have separated!
The famewhoring couple have reportedly become isolated from their friends and family (most memorably, calling the police on Heidi's mum when she tried to visit her daughter after Heidi's ridiculous plastic surgery and Spencer's aggressive behaviour and obsession with crystals.
And surprise surprise, Heidi is already working the publicity to her best advantage: she's already lined up a new reality TV show which will follow her in her new single life.

Lauren Conrad was always the most stylish person on The Hills, and since being off the show she still tops Best Dressed Lists left, right and center.
Obviously this means she has to release a style guide. After all, Speidi released a How To Be Famous guide.
Lauren explains how the book, simply called 'Style' came about, saying, "The first book tour I went on, I had the opportunity to meet thousands and thousands of fans. The majority of the questions were about fashion. It was fun to share all the things I had learned."
Style will feature "personal stories, live and learn stories" and the obligatory "high school horror stories."

We all know by now - Heidi Montag thinks plastic surgery = good.
The reality star, in her quest to be either 90% plastic or relevant, has declared that she wants bigger boobs - increasing them from 700 cc's to 800 cc's.
A source said, "She wants to do it within the next two months and film it for the new TV show that she and Spencer have been pitching to cable networks E! and Oxygen."
And Heidi's husband Spencer confirms this, telling press, "When Heidi woke up from the anesthesia [last time], she was angry [her breasts] weren't bigger. She said she wanted to punch the doctor in the face. I try to stop her. She'll do what she wants with her body."
Well it seems Spencer does have some sense.

It was a sad day yesterday when it was revealed that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt had been placed top of the list of Times' least influencial people in the world.
Basically this means everything they, and Heidi's surgeon, have been working for for all these years... was for nothing.

Apparently Spencer Pratt is feeling a little annoyed about the rumours that Lauren Conrad will be returning for the final episodes of The Hills.
The reality star spent an hour or so out of his busy, media-whoring day to tweet a variety of insulting messages at Lauren.
These included: "@laurenconrad shit has to be hard when your mom looks way better and younger then you. Then again your mom has good doctor you are broken."
"@laurenconrad stop trying to get famous you haven't been relevant since laguna beach. You need ghost writers pretend you can spell or read."
"@laurenconrad dont come back to reality tv your boring and FUGLY. Jeresy shore took any spot that you left open you on MTV moron. LC WHO?"
You know what, I don't think Spencer likes her.
Lauren, being dignified, didn't reply or acknowledge him.

Heidi Montag is reportedly still not happy with her completely renovated body and wants even more surgery (on top of the 10 procedures she's already had).
What's more, Heidi's obsession with her body has apparently risen out of the state of her "out of control" marraige with Spencer Pratt.
A source told Now,"Heidi wants another boob job and more liposuction. Everyone suspects she's concentrating on her body because her marriage is careering out of control.
"Heidi's spiralling into an abyss. It's like she's becoming a spectator in her own life but can't do anything to get it back on track, so she's concentrating on the one thing she can control: her body."

The new season of The Hills is on its way, and a preview of the show has been released which shows Heidi Montag talking to her family about her extensive surgery.
The reality star heads to her mother's house to present her new improved face and body and is met with not too supportive a reception.
Heidi's sister Holly tells her she was shocked at her decision because she always had "confidence ... I don't know what happened".
But her mum is quite obviously as unimpressed as we were when we saw her.
She tells her daughter she wished that she had dealt with her insecurity "on a psychological level", and then dryly suggests a blender when Heidi can't chew her burger because of her jaw surgery.
We cannot wait for this episode, if only for Heidi's expression throughout this conversation.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have apparently decided to drop the sexual harrassment lawsuit they filed against creator of The Hills Adam Divillo.
The couple initially claimed that Adam had touched Heidi 'inappropriately'.
But the involvement of Lauren Conrad seems to have caused them to think twice about it. In a statement Lauren said that the claims were "completely absurd" and "100 percent without merit."
She said, "Adam is a true professional and a wonderful person to work for."
A source said, "Heidi and [husband] Spencer [Pratt] have changed their minds and realised they should just move on."
