Kate Middleton Wedding Watch #23: Kate won't be wearing Vivienne Westwood

Kate-Middleton.jpgAll that speculation on who would be designing Kate Middleton's dress for her wedding to Prince William has died down now - most people are convinced that Bruce Oldfield is a dead cert - but we know who it definitely won't be: Dame Vivienne Westwood.

The Queen of British fashion was asked about the rumours that Kate would be using her and she flatly denied them, in the blunt style that we love her for.

Vivienne said, "I would have loved to have dressed Kate Middleton but I have to wait until she kind of catches up a bit somewhere with style."

Ouch!

The designer added, "Sorry, I'm not going to say any more, that's it. When people ask me where she's going to get the dress from - she's definitely not going to get it from me."

Lucky Vivienne's already got a Damehood right? Can they take those away?

Kate Middleton Wedding Watch #20: Prince Harry named as William's Best Man

prince_harry_william_best_man.jpgToday the palace announced that Prince Harry has been chosen to be Prince William's Best Man at his wedding to Kate Middleton in just two months!

How time flies.

Harry said when the engagement was first announced, "I am delighted that my brother has popped the question! It means I get a sister, which I have always wanted."

This means he gets to plan the stag night, which I'm sure he's even more delighted about. That is going to be wild.

It was also announced that Kate has asked her sister Pippa Middleton to be her maid of honour, and her bridesmaids will be Prince William's cousin Lady Louise Windsor, the Hon Margarita Armstrong-Jones, who is the daughter of Viscount and Viscountess Linley, the Duchess of Cornwall's granddaughter Eliza Lopes, and William's goddaughter Grace van Cutsem.

KateWatch #9: Kate and Prince William to live without staff

katemiddleton_princewilliam_official_engagment.jpgKate Middleton and Prince William have reportedly decided to live without butlers and so on when they are married in April, to preserve their 'intimacy'.

This means that unlike his father, Prince Charles, who employs 150 staff including butlers, chauffeurs, valets and chefs, Prince William has decided that he and Kate will continue looking after themselves as they have done.

A royal source told The Telegraph, "It's very much their instinct to manage on their own. They want to do their duty and make sure they are a real asset to the country, but they are private individuals who want to get on with their lives."

KateWatch #3: Once, Kate went out wearing bunny ears

kate_middleton_boots.jpgIt's KateWeddingWatch again, and today brings the news that three years ago, Kate Middleton went to a club wearing bunny ears (gasp, etc).

The incident occurred when Kate and Prince William were On A Break and Kate went off to a party at a club to celebrate the release of a documentary about the Rampant Rabbit (how very unroyal), clearly, as the tabloids put it, to Show Him What He Was Missing.

Unfortunately we don't actually HAVE these pictures, but if you could just imagine Kate wearing some in the other picture on the left, that would be great, thanks.

Or you can see them here if you must (but that means you have no imagination).

Bruce Oldfield to design Kate Middleton's wedding dress?

kate_middleton_prince_william_engaged.jpgWe may have discovered who Kate Middleton has chose to design her gown for her wedding to Prince William - Paddy Power have stopped taking bets on it because of so many people put massive bets on it being Bruce Oldfield.

A spokesman told Vogue, "Sometimes this kind of betting comes from people taking an educated guess, but sometimes it is the result of a leak."

"We were taking bets of £500 or more so it could be a leak."

"The wedding is in April, so someone knows what dress she is wearing. I suppose we will just have to wait to see on the 29th."

Bruce has designed wedding gowns for Samantha Cameron and Jemima Khan in the past.

Clarence House is expected to confirm the date of the wedding very soon, but we're hearing whispers that the biggest royal wedding since Charles and Diana's could be happening on April 28th.

As for the venue, Kate was seen at Westminister Abbey last week, leading to speculation that the ceremony may take place there (even though that was also where Princess Diana's funeral was held).

We will, of course, let you know!
