Hotly-tipped to be this year's
Adele,
Lana del Ray has shown off her enviable sense of style in a new editorial for
V Magazine.
The
Video Games singer looks coy as she poses playfully for the black and white shots in a
Prada bodysuit. Continuing the
SS12 theme, she also models floral prints from
Dolce & Gabanna's new collection, a pretty white
Louis Vuitton blouse last seen next to
Kate Moss on the Parisian catwalk and gingham check
Jil Sander shorts. Most of the accessories come from her jewellery box.
Lana talks openly about her new found fame in the accompanying interview. She admits its been a rollercoaster year for her career.
"You talk about all these things that have happened to me in this short
space of time, but the one thing that has really changed is that I now
have an audience", she says. "I turn up in Glasgow or Manchester or Amsterdam and
there are good people waving at me from the crowd. That's amazing."
But she doesn't seem completely happy with being talked about, or being compared to
Rihanna and
Katy Perry.
She adds: "I have had an entire life of not being talked about. That's fine... I'm not competing with those girls. I'm not competing with anyone."
We love her already. See more Lana shots
here.

She was given exclusive access to the Versace archive last year after vowing to spend two months wearing only Donatella's designs, but Lady Gaga has revealed that she's a fan of designer counterfeits too.
Talking to a group of 'Little Monsters' last week, Gaga admitted that she couldn't resist snapping up "fake Chanel and Versace" while in Japan last month - including the faux Versace jacket she was wearing.
According to The Mirror, the singer said: "In Tokyo, they have all these stores that have fake Chanel and Versace. And I'm an Italian from New York, so I still buy it. This jacket is a fake."
She also told fans to shop in thrift stores and customise their clothes instead of splashing out on pricey designer pieces.
Remember the fashion landscape without our favourite royal, Kate Middleton looking glossy, groomed and gorgeous? No, we can't either.
She's the girl who can single-handedly send a designer in to the stratosphere (see Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, Alice Temperley and Issa). She flies the flag for the British high street (Zara, Reiss, LK Bennett, Whistles), never worries about being photographed in the same (delete as appropriate) dress/shoes/handbag and owns the most-sought after mane since 'The Rachel'. Oh, and did we mention she does it all without the help of a stylist?
Today is the Duchess' 30th birthday. Seeing as our invite to Pippa's surprise party seems to have got lost in the post, let us guide you through the Duchess' top thirty style moments. This is one princess who can dress!

On the eve of her 30th birthday, Kate Middleton has wowed the crowds in Leicester Square in a floor-length black gown by British designer, Alice Temperley.
The Duchess hit the red carpet with husband Prince William in tow for the premiere of Stephen Spielberg's new film, War Horse.
She chose a sheer black lace dress with panels, a plunging neckline and a cinched waist by the British designer who created sister, Pippa Middleton's bridesmaid's dress for the Royal Wedding last year.
As usual, Kate kept the rest of her outfit understated with her sapphire engagement ring providing the only colour. A black clutch, simple bracelet and her trademark shiny tresses (protected dutifully by William's umbrella) completed the look.
The princess is a big fan of winter's sheer lace trend. She wore a shorter dress in a similar style to a charity concert just last month, and a blue Erdem lace dress for an engagement last year.
It's thought Kate will spend her birthday with William before attending a surprise eighties-themed cocktails and karaoke party thrown by Pippa and Prince Harry tomorrow evening.

Is it just us or does this printed dress by Warehouse (above left) have more than a little Mary Katrantzou about it?
We ask because Alexa Chung, Kiera Knightley, Dianna Agron and Solange Knowles spent most of last year showing off their pins in the Greek designer's digital print dresses. Her work has since become instantly recognisable.
Sadly we can't quite stretch to an original, but we knew it wouldn't be long before the high street took inspiration from Mary's ornate designs and created copycat styles.
This floral print three-quarter sleeved shift is the best we've seen so far. Wear with tights and boots until Mary's collection for Topshop drops next month.

Fast becoming our 2012 style crush (yes, we know we're only four days in but this girl can dress!), Rooney Mara hit Paris in an elegant black shift by French favourite (of course), Louis Vuitton last night for another Girl with the Dragon Tattoo premiere.
Walking the red carpet with co-star David Craig in tow and in trainers (WTF?), the actress teamed her pre-fall 2012 gold embellished sleeveless LBD with a simple swept-back updo, red lips, bare legs and strappy black sandals. Very sophisticated - Daniel take note.
Even though the first film from the trilogy hasn't been a box-office smash, the second installment has been given the green light this week so expect more smouldering looks from Rooney over the next twelve months.
Oh, and if you were wondering what Louis Vuitton has to offer for spring (we're not sure we're ready for pre-fall just yet!), check out Sarah-Jessica Parker at a recent ball in New York. Gorgeous.

We're not sure how H&M do it. After collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, Versace and Marni (coming soon) amongst others, the Swedish shop has now teamed up with David Beckham to create his debut men's underwear collection, 'Bodywear'. And although David's new line isn't exactly designed for us, we're quite enjoying the fruits of his labour...

Dropping next month, the collection features nine classic underwear styles designed exclusively by David's team for the high street brand, including briefs, boxers, vests, T-shirts and pajamas.
Unlike their other collaborations, 'Bodywear' isn't a one off which means more shots like these. The only thing better? Victoria Beckham for H&M. Put in a good word David, please...

We have to admit that we never thought we'd be writing about Kate Middleton stepping out in wellies to head to the football, but these aren't your average wellington boots. And this definitely wasn't your average football match.
Before spending Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham, Kate and Prince Harry wore matching Le Chameau 'Chasseur' wellies to cheer on Prince William who was playing football for charity on Christmas Eve.
Kate teamed her luxury leather-lined side-zip wellies with a £695 sheepskin jacket from LK Bennett, a Temperley roll-neck knit in almond, jeans and a fedora hat.
This isn't the first time she's kept warm and dry in the wellies. Kate was pictured wearing them on a recent trip to the seaside with sister, Pippa Middleton.
The boots apparently retail for £300 online, although we've found the neoprene version here for less.
Surely the new Hunter for festival season, no?

It's been a busy few days for the Royal Family's newest recruit - Kate Middleton - and her impressive wardrobe. If you missed any of her amazing Christmas outfits, it's time to catch up...
Just before heading off to Sandringham for Christmas Eve, Kate joined husband, Prince William for a cooking demonstration at homeless charity, Centrepoint. After the drama of McQueen earlier in the week, her olive green long-sleeved wool and cashmere turtleneck dress by American designer, Ralph Lauren was subtle yet chic. Kate's khaki dress has since sold out, but the winter knit is still available in grey and black.
She left her staple LK Bennett coat at home this time, keeping the rest of her look simple with black accessories. Those waterproof Aquatalia heeled knee high boots have definitely become a firm favourite with the Duchess already. She wore them again on Christmas Day with a grey coat for her first outing to St Mary's church on the Sandringham estate.
In the afternoon of the 25th - with Prince Phillip noticeably absent due to a heart scare on Christmas Eve - Kate joined the Royal Family for their second trip to church.
She chose a plum funnel-neck frock coat from an as yet unconfirmed British designer and matching wine-coloured made-to-measure hat by milliner - and Middleton family favourite, Jane Corbett. The Duchess' shoes were a specially requested re-issue of a previous design by Jaime Mascaro. He also designed her Pretty Ballerinas clutch bag for The Sun Military Awards. His office have now confirmed that the £169 court shoes will be available again very soon.
Receiving flowers from the crowds who had gathered in the church yard, Kate also showed off her
Kiki McDonough 18-carat gold diamond and citrine drop earrings - reportedly a Christmas present from
Prince William worth £1,900. The Chelsea-based jeweller was often commissioned by William's late mother,
Princess Diana to create jaw-dropping jewels for red carpet events. The Duchess has already been pictured wearing four of Kiki's designs this year.
It's thought
Pippa Middleton joined her sister,
Prince Harry and the
Duke of Cambridge for yesterday's
Boxing Day shoot.

Her first Christmas as a royal has well and truly started, and Kate Middleton has chosen one of her favourite British brands, LK Bennett for her first festive engagement - lunch at Buckingham Palace with the in-laws.
We spotted Kate wearing LK Bennett's 'Ami' coat in burgundy as she was driven to the palace by husband, Prince William in their black Range Rover.
The coat is a firm favourite of Kate's. She packed it in her
suitcase to keep her warm during her tour of Denmark earlier this year.
It's been a busy week for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They joined Wills' brother, Prince Harry for The Sun Military Awards on Monday evening - and are due to make another public appearance at a homeless charity in London later today before leaving for Christmas weekend with the royal family at Sandringham.
If you fancy treating yourself to Kate's coat, there's good news. It's just been reduced by £100 on the brand's website but you best be quick.
