Nicole Richie has spoken about why she felt she had to get a restraining order on one of the paparazzi to protect her children.
Nicole said, "I don't want to prevent anyone from making a living, but at the end of the day, we all have to follow certain guidelines and we all have to answer to somebody."
She explained, "At the end of the day, as a mother, I have to protect my children. It's instinctual, right or wrong, you have to protect your children."
"Like I said, there are certain guidelines for everyone. For you, for me, for everyone. And it has to be the same for everyone. We all have to be safe."

Nicole Richie has been talking about her views on fashion, saying that she thinks it should be fun.
Nicole said, "I've pretty much always been into fashion, and the fun part is experimenting with different looks. A month ago I had long dark hair and then I chopped it all off and bleached it blonde."
She explained,"That's what fashion is all about - it's about playing with different looks. When I was 14, I dyed my hair green, and then I dyed my hair pink. When I was 20, I went through a grunge stage, and then a very sophisticated stage. That's part of fashion - it's a way to let go and to express yourself. It's fun to dress up and play with different looks. I've been doing that for really my whole life."

Nicole Richie has announced that she'll be making a foray into acting with a role in a comedy show for ABC!
The designer and author and reality TV star revealed on her blog, "I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project."
She added, "I am creating a half-hour scripted comedy for ABC which I will be starring in, as well as producing."
She continued: "The story revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with and navigate the many ideas of what a woman's role is - modern vs. traditional."

Nicole Richie has succeeded in getting a restrainging order against papparazzo Fabricio Luis Mariotto who was harrassing her and her two kids.
In the petition for the restraining order, Nicole said, "[Mariotto] drives erratically around my children and others, yells, screams and attempts to scare us so that he can photograph our reaction. He trespasses on preschool property to photograph the children."
Nicole added, "His predatory behavior caused and continues to cause severe emotional distress as I fear for the safety of my children."
The temporary restraining order requires Mariotto to stay 100 yards away from Nicole, Joel Madden, Harlow and Sparrow, as well as the preschool that they attend.

Nicole Richie has praised her friend Christina Aguilera's parenting skills, saying that she is impressed by the singer's dedication to her son Max.
Nicole said, "It's very clear through Christina's music what a strong woman she is."
She added, "But to watch her as a mother only skyrockets the respect I have for her. She is the woman who's recording until 4am and up at 7am to be with her son. Her dedication to Max is incredible."

Nicole Richie has written a basically kickass letter to celebrity gossip site X17 about the paparazzi they station outside her daughter's school.
In the letter which Nicole posted on her blog, she said, "THANK YOU so much for posting the video of your employees sitting outside of my daughter's school, because now the entire world can see how creepy and disgusting you are."
She adds, "These are young children and you should know better. X17, you are irresponsible and repulsive. Consider this a warning."
If we were X17, we would be very afraid.

Nicole Richie has confirmed that she and fiance Joel Madden will be getting married very soon, as we previously reported!
The designer and author was on Good Morning America this morning promoting her new book Priceless, and answered questions about if they were to marry soon.
But understandably she wouldn't dish on any of the details, saying, "Joel and I are not big planners. We just kind of go with the flow with things."

The designer and former wild child has apparently planned her wedding to the Good Charlotte singer for December, and the party only took place this soon because of 'scheduling difficulties'. (Well when one of your friends is Christina Aquilera that can happen).
The couple, who have a daughter Harlow, 2, and a son Sparrow, 1 are said to be considering holding the event at Nicole's father Lionel Richie's Los Angeles estate.
