Photography team Mert Atlas and Marcus Pigott were busy shooting the campaign when Madonna walked in and took over. As you do.
One of the models, Gina Lapina, recalls, "We were supposed to shoot a video, so Madonna said she wanted to direct it. [They said] she could do it but they weren't going to pay her and she started laughing. She put on her iPod and taught us moves and we shot the video for two hours."

Two weeks after her teen fashion line was launched, Madonna is reportedly being sued by another clothing company which is also called Material Girl!
The company claims that it has been "continually selling similar clothes in similar retail outlets at similar price points under their Material Girl brand since at least 1997, and Madonna and her newfound company do not have the right to trade in the same space under this brand."
People have been talking about this line for months and months - they couldn't have brought this up before?!
Doesn't really matter though does it? It's Madonna's song title!

Yesterday was the launch of Madonna's Material Girl line at American department store Macy's and although Madonna wasn't there, Taylor Momsen was on hand in her capacity as brand ambassador.
Taylor wore an outfit from the range, which shockingly included some trousers. Maybe she's getting ill.
The Gossip Girl actress rock star gave her first customers a free concert as they ran around grabbing slashed leggings, cropped tops, ra-ra skirts, studded jackets, leather and tartan.

The advertising campaign pictures for Madonna's Material Girl range have been released, all starring Taylor Momsen, who even smiles in one shot (we haven't posted that one though).
A picture of Madonna directing Taylor was also released, which you can see above, where she's arranging her outfit or something.
We think Taylor looks amazing actually, and the clothes look pretty good! What do you think? You can see the rest of the images here.

Taylor Momsen has taken a break from talking about why she's so rock and roll, to talk about her newest job as the face of Madonna's Material Girl line.
She even met the stars daughter and inspiration Lola, saying, "Lola was here all day and she helped style the shoot and I worked with her to put the outfits together. She's a sweetheart."
And of Madonna, Taylor recounted, "Madonna came a little bit later and she's totally awesome. She's very down to earth for all her success so that was... it was good to see that."
Taylor also added that her favourite pieces form the collection are the bandeau tops. So we'll be seeing her wearing those paired with hold ups soon too. Joy.

Madonna was reportedly sent a letter by the council after a raucous karaoke party was thrown at her 10-bedroom Georgian home in Marlybone, disturbing the nieghbours enough that they complained.
A spokesman for Westminster Council told press, "The letter was only a slap on the wrist for Madonna. There would have to be several other violations and complaints before she would be taken before a Magistrates Court under Section 80 of Environmental Protection Act and actually fined."
And it would be Madonna who got the fine - even though she wasn't home when the party happened! Maybe Lola had a gathering while her mum was away...
The spokesperson added, "Although she was not present at the time, because she is the actual owner of the property she is the person responsible for any noise violation that takes place."

If you haven't heard that Lourdes Leon, daughter of Madonna, has been blogging to promote Madonna's Material Girl collection, then where have you been?!
In her latest post, Lola reveals she'll be coming to London soon to have a roam around legendary vintage destination Brick Lane!
She wrote, "I'm going to East London in the next days, to this area called Bricklane, to get some more vintage - cuz you can never have too much vintagy-thrifty looking stuff."
"Bricklane"! Bless her.
And if you're in Brick Lane much, you might come across her!
Lola added, "Anyway... so I'm gonna bring my camera to East London and take pictures of cool looking people and come off as weird cuz I'm gonna ask people to like stand still so I can take pics of them... but it will be LOL so yeah."

Maybe now she'll have to wear trousers - I doubt Madonna has hold-ups in her collection!
A little while ago a faceless teaser for the campaign was released to get gossip going about who the celebrity model would be, and it's been confirmed it is indeed the Gossip Girl star.
The range will feature rock-inspired studded leather with a mix of floral prints, so Taylor sounds like the perfect person for the job. What do you think?

Despite attending the same party a few weeks ago, it seems Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow still haven't made up.
The pair, who used to be the bestest of friends, fell out a while ago, with Gwyneth telling Vogue in an interview "I'm having a situation right now with a friend where I'm feeling pretty angry."
The two stars both attended the Wireless festival on Sunday, but reportedly ignored each other completely, even watching Jay Z's set in different VIP areas.

Forbes' Celebrity 100 has been released and in the rundown of this year's ranking of the richest and most powerful actors, actresses and musicians, we can see three of our favourite pop stars!
The positions are also a result of social media rankings, which sees Lady Gaga debut on the list at number 4 with $62 million, ahead of even Madonna, Avatar and Titanic directer James Cameron and Sandra Bullock.
Britney Spears took the 6th spot on the list with an estimated fortune of $64 million, and Beyonce comes in at number one, with a massive $315 million.
