The first thing we thought of when we saw this red Topshop skirt was that it looked a bit like a designer one we'd come across...and then we discovered that it was Gucci!
There are many a similarity between Gucci's belted silk-charmeuse skirt and Topshop's Red Paperbag Waist Belted Skirt - the long line silhouette, the pleats falling from the waistband, the belted waist and the bright colour used.
The biggest difference as usual is the price: the Topshop version is a snip at £35, compared to the price tag of Gucci's, at £630. Which will you choose?

The Mulberry Bayswater bag is one of the most instantly recognizable bags ever, so when I spotted this on the internet earlier I had to do a double take and make sure I wasn't seeing things.
But of course it wasn't a Mulberry, but the Cream Crocodile Overnight Bag from Miss Selfridge - but they do look very similar don't they? The Miss Selfridge version however carries a price tag a lot less then the £484 sported by the Bayswater, at just £45! Get it here.

Peacocks isn't necessarily the first place you'd pop into on your search for an evening dress, but maybe you should give it a chance if you ever find yourself needing one.
The high street store's speciality vintage collection includes this £40 floor length blue gown on the left, which bears more then a passing similarity to one by Halston Heritage (right), so beloved by Sarah Jessica Parker.
And with a £490 price difference (the Halston one is £530), I know which I prefer!

Marc Jacobs introduced us to the perfect summer dress when his beachy striped creation swept onto the runway - but clearly it's not within our budget.
Enter Debenhams and Red Herring, who have provided an excellent homage: the White striped rope maxi dress.

Ahh who doesn't love a sparkly dress? Especially a gold sparkly dress. I spotted the one on the right on Net-a-Porter earlier and totally fell in love with it. We had an acrimonious split when I caught sight of the £450 price tag, but luckily I've already found a similar model.
The dress on the left is from Topshop and is £125, a much better price I'm sure you'll agree.
They aren't exactly the same - the J Crew version is shinier and unarguably more expensive looking then Topshop's version - but who can complain for a £275 saving?
Not me.

Nothing says Chanel quite like a white jacket with black trim (well, apart from a quilted bag maybe) - but in this case, the jacket above is saying 'Topshop'.
I realise what a tenuous link that is but I'm battling on.
I spotted this awesome homage to the classic blazer on Topshop's website, and if you've been lusting after the original, which would probably set you back a thousand, this'll probably suit you're budget a little better at £65.

Even if you could afford one, you'd be hard pressed to actually get your hands on a dress from Victoria Beckham's collection - as soon as they hit stores they sell out.
Luckily there's a great substitute for one of the real things at George! They have a bright yellow shift dress that is almost identical to the one Victoria showcased in her SS11 catwalk show last year - except £16.
With an empire line, short sleeves and in a vibrant sunshine yellow, I think you'll all agree this is basically summer in a dress. Want it? Get it here from George at Asda.

Jeans are such an boring everyday item that its nice to have a few pairs that are more interesting then just standard blue ones.
These ones from Burberry are super-cool: low rise skinny jeans with an edgy twist, they have stitched detail on the knees and zip up at the ankle.
And they're £195.
If you can't stretch to that though, the Rip & Repair Biker Skinny Jeans from ASOS are very similar, with the same markings on the knees.
Get them from ASOS on sale for £18 (down from £36) here.
Which will you be going for?

I'm sure you all remember the bandage tights by Wolford that Cheryl Cole wore to perform on the X-Factor (that seems like years ago now doesn't it?). Well we did a Get The Look on those when they hit the market, but as we expected, sold out instantly.
Luckily though this morning I spotted this copycat pair from Topshop - okay so they aren't completely similar, but they're good enough, don't you think? Plus they aren't £35.
