London Fashion Week: Burberry A/W10

Coats, coats, coats - that was the theme of the day at Christopher Bailey's Burberry Autumn Winter 2010 show, which finished off London Fashion Week.

The show was a mix of styles of coats: military, trenches, peacoats, aviators and fur over sexy, tight, ruffled skirts and dresses in rouched velvet and chiffon, worn with thigh high boots and chunky buckled boots.

Green and brown were ever-present on the catwalk, shot through with wine coloured dresses and a bright blue that came down in elegant coats.

The clothes notwithstanding, Burberry's show was a star studded event, with Kate Hudson, Clare Danes, Kristen Stewart and the High Priestess of fashion herself, Anna Wintour decorating the front row.

LFW Gallery: Topshop Unique A/W10

It was a dramatic show for Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week this season as the wild-looking models sauntered onto the leave-covered catwalk with cavewoman-styled make up and unruly just-woke-up-in-a-forest hair - even down to the wiry fake eyebrows.

Topshop Unique's wearable collection for this winter was made up of natural looking leathers, chunky woollen knits and big bulky sheepskins, and a lot of green military wool.

The models wore leather dresses and fur trimmed coats paired with thigh-high cable knit socks, and floaty chiffon was layered with leather straps, chunky shoes and antler headdresses (although we're pretty sure those won't be for sale...).

What will you be buying?

London Fashion Week: Richard Nicoll Autumn Winter 2010

Richard Nicoll's Autumn Winter 2010 collection was inspired by his own wardrobe, from which the designer took elements of menswear - suits, classic knits and old fashioned pajamas - and applied them to his designs to create feminine womenswear, adding sheer gauzy fabrics and sumptuous velvet.

Using a palette of burnt oranges, rich blues and soft greys, the designer produced a collection of wearable pieces for London Fashion Week - the burnished orange bustier cocktail dress is one of our favourites.

London Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood Red Label 2010 Collection

Colour, Tartan, Clashing... it must be Vivienne Westwood. Vivienne Westwood's Red Label show at London Fashion Week was an example of all that's great about the kooky British designer, and what makes her shows so exciting.

Models stalked the catwalk with fluffy, volumized hair and shadowy make up in blazers and trousers which showed off Vivienne's impeccable tailoring. The outspoken designer also showcased her environmental awareness - she sent models down the catwalk wearing t-shirts printed with statistics on world-population and Mother Earth.

As usual Vivienne drew the big names; Janet Jackson, Nicola Roberts and Naomi Campbell were the stars of the front row.

Celeb's sashay out in force at Fashion For Relief

nicolarobertsfashionforrelief.jpgNaomi Campbell's London Fashion Week version of Fashion for Relief definitely drew in the big names last night as Kate Moss, Nicola Roberts and Geri Halliwell took to the Catwalk.

In a star packed show, Kate Moss (and it has to be a special occasion to get our Kate on a catwalk nowadays), Naomi herself and Alexander McQueen's muse Annabelle Neilsen opened the show as a tribute to the designer.

The show, which was held at Somerset House, took place in aid of White Ribbon Alliance's work in Haiti and also featured Alice Dellal, Pixie Geldof, Kimberley Walsh, The Saturdays, Amber and Yasmin Le Bon, Ronnie Corbett, Jo Wood, Erin O'Connor, Jade Parfitt, Denise Van Outen, Roisin Murphy, Alexandra Burke, Dame Shirley Bassey and even James Corden and Freddie Flintoff.

The dresses modelled during the show were then to be auctioned on NET-A-PORTER.COM to rasie money for the very worthy charity. If you had your eye on Kate's dress though, you missed out as Sir Phillip Green snapped it up for a shocking £100,000.

Victoria Beckham: 'I'm happy and healthy'

victoria-beckham-leathers-skinny.jpg

Victoria Beckham has defended her skinny frame, amidst claims that she's far too thin. Posh has been snapped around London Fashion Week looking painfully thin, but in an interview in the Daily Mirror she said she's 'happy and healthy.'

She said "I find it irresponsible when people obsess about my shape and size. I appreciate there are young girls and women who look at me as a role model and it is simply untrue to say I do not eat and I am unhealthy.

"I have a healthy diet, a healthy lifestyle and plenty of energy to run after my three energetic young boys and travel the world managing my fashion business."

We're reserving our judgement on that one until we actually see her eat a sandwich.

London Fashion Week: Burberry Spring/Summer 2010 collection

A Burberry collection wouldn't be complete without the trademark mac and the spring/summer 10 collection made no exception to the rules in that department.

The rest of the collection consisted of lots of beautifully delicate looking pastel dresses and draped, twisted skirts in nude colours, toughened up with a utilitarian waist belt.

Textures clearly played a huge part in the collection with a couple of gorgeous fur (we hope they weren't real) coats and metallic dresses and tops that looked like crystals as they sparkled under the lights.

As usual, the show was awash with celebrities with everyone from Emma Watson, Liv Tyler and Gwyneth Paltrow to Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate Olsen Alexa Chung making an appearance

London Fashion Week: Savannah and Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve Spring/Summer 10 collection

Savannah and Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve S/S10 collection had a real late 80s feel to it with lots of washed out denim, cropped tops, pastel colours and bold graphic prints.

A Twenty8Twelve show wouldn't be a Twenty8Twelve show without a few celebrities in the front row and this season, Anna Wintour, Alexa Chung and Peaches and Pixie Geldof turned up to show their support.
