Kylie Minogue has said in an interview that she hopes she played a part in making dance music more popular, and said she sees some of herself in Lady Gaga.
The singer, who is releasing her new album Aphrodite soon, had previously said that Lady Gaga was "an absolute force to reckoned with".
Kylie said, "I think there's an element of me in her, but you'd also have to add into that mix all of the other women we've been talking about."
She added, "It's all part of a chain. In as much as dance music has gone mainstream, I'd love to think that I've played a part in that."

Kylie attended the amfAR New York Inspiration Gala, at The New York Public Library in this racy outfit by Jean Paul Gaultier.
The theme of the evening was Black tie/Black leather which the singer kept to in a asymetric dress with a deep slit (showing off her suspenders) with a leather sleeve ending in a glove and handcuff detailing.

A source close to the singer, who released the video for her new single All The Lovers yesterday, said, "They had a massive row in Wednesday of last week, at the end of which he told her it was over..."
They continued, "She and Andres had been bickering for a few days. She got quite critical of him, complaining he was not supporting her enough. Andres had enough. He told her it was over, that he did not need that kind of stress in his life."
All we have to say is, is he crazy? Has he not seen her video yet? Because I would not break up with that.

The singer showed off her famous behind in a open fronted t-shirt over a black bra and a pair of high waisted knickers, which she paired with white, cut-out thigh high boots.

Kylie Minogue has declared that she may never get married.
The singer with a phobia of hangers is currently dating Spanish model Andres Velencoso Segura.
Kylie told Elle magazine: "I'm in a very happy, romantic place and Andres is so level-headed and easygoing. It's enjoyable. He's a good socialiser - which is good for me, because I could easily do my work, which involves so many people, then go home and stay home. I'm so boring."
When asked about marriage, she added: "Who knows? It's not on the cards now. Maybe it's a path I'll never go down. All I know is you can do worse than expect the unexpected."

Kylie Minogue has confessed to having a phobia. Not of water, or heights, or even oranges (some people do have that)... to hangers!
The pop star told Elle magazine, "The problem is I hate putting things on hangers."
She continued, "I have a hanger phobia - I don't like the way they sound when you put them in the wardrobe."
To get around this, Kylie says she has a room in her London home where all her clothes are laid out.
That must be a very big room.
