Ah what a good friend Katy Perry is - the singer kicked off her Teenage Dream tour this weekend and sang a cover of Only Girl (In The World) as a tribute to her bestie Rihanna whose birthday it was yesterday!
Katy also covered Jay-Z's Big Pimpin and Willow Smith's Whip My Hair. And she played a bedazzled recorder. Presented to her on a velvet cushion. Amazing. Check it out above.
Katy Perry was one of the non egg-clad performers at the Grammy's last night - after arriving with husband Russell Brand on the red carpet dressed up like an angel on her wedding day (although we think she looks amazing) in a custom-made Giorgio Armani evening dress with a Swarovski crystal encrusted bustier, an iridescent silk organza ruffled skirt and a dramatic open front and cascading train. And wings.
Katy performed a Valentines Day themed mix of her two songs Not Like The Movies and Teenage Dream, and started off sitting on a swing while the first ever seen pictures and clips from her and Russell's wedding were projected behind her!
Awh. Check out her performance (and images of their special day) in the video below. Oh and look out for Nicole Kidman singing along!
Katy Perry is pretty much known not just for her voice, but for her, lets face it, her quite impressive boobs.. But she's revealed she wasn't always so grateful for them.
The singer told Elle, "I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I'm generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145."
Katy added, "And I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder...and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know...that these things would come in handy someday."
Yes, who knew one day she'd be shooting cream out of them?
Remember this photo of Katy Perry that Russell Brand tweeted (and then deleted, also too late) a little while ago? Yes? We doubt Katy will forget either. Actually we know she won't because she has just vowed to get revenge.
Okay, that's a bit overdramatic, but whatever.
Katy told The Mirror when asked about the Incident (believe me it would have been an incident if it had happened to me), "He thought it was hilarious, but as you can imagine, I wasn't too impressed. I'm currently plotting my payback."
We can't wait to see what she does. What an entertaining couple!
Katy Perry thinks a lot of herself - she recently said that although she knows her fanbase at shows are mostly women, she's pretty sure their boyfriends are excited to see her too.
Of course, we're sure she didn't actually mean it like that, but it makes for a better story if we spin it that way.
Katy said, "That's the thing with me, I think a lot of girls are bringing their boyfriends along, but the boyfriends aren't dragging their feet. They will be secretly excited to be coming to see me, I think."
She added: "Perhaps Snoop Dogg will make a surprise guest appearance if he happens to be in the same city at the same time. The boyfriends would enjoy that!"
But I don't think many girls would bring their boyfriends along to be honest, Katy, sorry.
Oh dear: the Katy Perry/Russell Brand honeymoon period may be over, after Russell posted this not too flattering picture of his new wife without makeup onto twitter.
Clearly he had second thoughts because it was deleted a split second later, but the damage was already done.
I'd like to take this opportunity to tell my future husband that if he ever outs a photo of me with no makeup on onto the internet he will not live long enough to be sorry.
Katy Perry has revealed all about her first date with Russell Brand to Grazia magazine!
Apparently he gave her a diamond necklace. On their first date! Why can't we find a man like that?
Katy revealed, "Russell gave this [necklace] to me on our first date. It's a Hindu hand of peace. But they're not beads, they are black diamonds."
And that's not all - Katy apparently asked him for a copy of his book, My Booky Wook (no doubt to learn what she was getting herself into) and he gave her one.
"I asked him if could have it. My hair was long and wavy at the time and he kept calling me a mermaid. He opened the book and wrote in it, 'You're a mermaid and I'm drowning," she said.
Katy Perry has been talking to Grazia about how she will be spending her first Christmas with husband Russell Brand - be warned, her quote contains the work 'tofu-urky' which we don't even want explained to us.
She said, "There will be me and Russ and a pink Christmas tree and a tofu-urky. We'll open one present the night before because that's the tradition in my family. And we'll do something new. We'll start our own new tradition because we are a family now."
Katy also revealed that children could be joining them for Christmas next year: "Absolutely. I don't want to miss out on any experience. I want lots of children. It's all very possible."
And she explained why we never saw any pictures of their wedding - a celebrity not selling their wedding photos? Shocking! "We never wanted it to be a public event which is why we didn't sell pictures, so we had some privacy," She said. "This relationship is real, it's not a photo opportunity, it's two people who have found what they want."
Katy said, "I think the whole world is going to be watching that wedding. And the interest in Kate and William's relationship is probably a hundred times more than what we get."
"I don't know them personally, but from an outsider's perspective, it looks like it's going to be really fun for them, but a lot of hard work at the same time. The whole world is going to be tuning in."
Katy also revealed that her husband Russell Brand had taught her all about the monarchy.
She added: "I find the whole royal system very interesting because we don't have it in the States... Russell has been very helpful, filling me in on English history."
