When it's chilly out, our sense of style seems to go out the window. Once we've exhausted our entire jumper collection, we panic and start dressing like a five-year-old in thick tights and wellies. Practical, yes. Stylish? Not so much.
Luckily
Olivia Palermo was put on this earth to teach us all how to dress, whatever the weather.
Last night, she braved the
New York cold for a film screening. Although she was probably chauffeur-driven from her front door to the cinema, she still dressed all snuggly in a black faux fur gilet, skinny jeans, sheer blouse and boots.
Olivia made the whole look far more interesting with a chunky tiger head necklace.

It's not often that we advocate white leather. In fact - before Mollie King stepped out in these white leather trousers - only Katy Perry had managed to make it wearable, and her gold studded leather dress was Versace.
Mollie's take on spring's trickiest trend works for two reasons. Firstly, we almost mistook her skinny All Saints trousers for jeans. They sit comfortably, flatter her long legs and don't look too heavy.
Also, when we think white trousers, we usually think Liz Hurley. When we think white leather, we think TOWIE. Mollie's peachy-hued jumper and tan boots aren't cliche at all. No wonder The Saturdays singer was sat front row at London College of Fashion's degree show!
In fact we're so in awe that we might give white leather a go ourselves. Time to start saving for the real stuff, pleather isn't going to cut it!

Tulisa Constostavlos clearly stocked up on Lipsy's dresses before jetting off to record her debut album in America.
Since arriving in LA last week, we've spotted the N-Dubz singer and X Factor judge in two looks from Pixie Lott's favourite label.
First up, Tulisa wore a tribal print bodycon vest for a day in the studio. She teamed the relaxed dress with her trusty black peep-toe boots.
After a long morning working, she changed for an afternoon of meetings. This time opting for a ruched digital print dress with nude Christian Louboutin pumps. Very Victoria Beckham!
Tulisa's in America to work on her solo project with Rihanna's producer.
She apparently split from bandmate and boyfriend, Fazer recently because he allegedly wanted her to settle down and have children.

We love actress Rooney Mara's signature avant-garde style, but her wardrobe isn't always easy to copy. Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 dress anyone?
Luckily, the Oscar nominated actress has just discovered H&M. Her first purchase? These skinny black trousers.
We can see why she's so smitten. Not only are the trousers effortlessly stylish (on first look we were convinced they'd be designer), but they also managed to balance out one of spring's trickier trends, the peplum top, perfectly. Oh, and did we mention the less than £30 price tag?
LOVE.

Selena Gomez seems to be quite the fan of the new American high street store brightening up our high street.
Just last we week we reported that she'd snapped up a very cool Forever 21 cardigan for a long haul flight. And now we've spotted her wearing one of their vests.
Selena took a break from her hectic American tour to pick-up a gold disc for her album, 'When The Sound Goes Down'.
She posed for photographers in a pair of denim shorts, Jeffrey Campbell boots and the £14.75 crochet detail vest top.
Unlike the cardigan, this vest has just dropped online. Go, go, go...

After days of lusting after Elizabeth Olsen's eclectic Sundance Film Festival look, we've finally tracked down that tiger-print sweatshirt.
At first, we thought it could be the work of her style icon sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's label, The Row. Or their new range, Olsenboye. After all, what better way to flog your wares than asking a successful young actress to be your clotheshorse?
But, just like most of the good things in life, Elizabeth's jumper is actually from the British high street. Good old Topshop to be precise. And, here's the best bit, it's on sale for just £28!
Unfortunately, those bronze velvet cords (sounds wrong, but they're so right!) aren't so purse-friendly. They're Adriano Goldschmied - one of Rachel Bilson's favourite Californian designers - and retail at £113.
More Elizabeth Olsen please...

We love it when one of our favourite celebrities steps out in a dress by a British high street favourite. Not only does it prove (once again!) just how stylish us Brit girls are, but we can also pick up their look for next to nothing. And considering pay day seems like ages ago, that can only be a good thing!
The latest Hollywood actress to discover our very own Topshop? Emma Roberts.
She was snapped wearing a simple floral bodycon dress teamed with black tights and boots at a posh dinner last week. We thought it was probably the work of one of her favourite designers, Zac Posen but it turns out Emma had actually been shopping in Toppers!
Although the actress' actual dress isn't available anymore, the striped version can be found here for just £30. Hurrah!
Topshop giant pansy bodycon striped dress, £30.
Way back in October, we spotted Pippa Middleton out and about in this gorgeous orange collarless coat from one of her high-street favourites, Zara.
Coming in at less than £80 (just), we were surprised that the Pippa Middleton-effect hadn't worked its magic and caused a stampede.
But, as Pippa stepped out her beloved double-breasted coat again this morning, the Zara website was yet to sell out. In fact, Zara is now offering Pippa's chic cover-up in green.
Zara double breasted coat, £79.99

She's the queen of dressed down chic so it's no surprise that when Miranda Kerr stepped out in New York today, her amazing outfit got us all of a flutter. And baby Flynn wasn't even on her arm.
Sporting her trademark casual yet sleek look, Miranda made the most of the unusually warm winter weather in NYC in a striped breton top, leather biker jacket, black buckled ankle boots and skinny cargo trousers.
Miranda's look might read like a designer who's who (The Row, Balenciaga and Celine) but we reckon you could get it on the high street for much less. Here's how...
We've already seen many a copy, but now the dress that launched a sex symbol, the Sarah Burton designed-Alexander McQueen gown that Pippa Middleton wore as maid of honour in Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding, is now on sale at Net-a-porter!
Coming in at a quite bargainous (for a now iconic dress anyway) £1,995, it definitely won't be there for long.
Get it here.
