Velvet, in particular black velvet, was the theme of the day for Giorgio Armani's Autumn/Winter collection: it came down the catwalk in floor length gowns, short, flippy skirts and gothic-style caps, which fell across the faces of the models.
The dramatic black was broken up by shots of jewel bright colours: an emerald green velvet skirt was paired with a jade-green, snakeskin jacket, and coral red and Tibetan orange appeared in one-shouldered cocktail dresses.

Emporio Armani's Uptown Girl collection was exactly what it says on the tin; a showcase of sexy, classy and luxurious clothes, mixing up feminine flared-out skirts with masculine blazers.
The colour palette featured taupe, dove grey, peach and glittering black, which were seen in cocktail dresses, (eco-friendly) furs, tailoring and waterfall-draped jackets.
The models wore vintage-look ankle-boots and a simple short-sleeved grey silk dress with a folded rose covering the bodice was one of our favourite looks.

It was a dramatic show for Topshop Unique at London Fashion Week this season as the wild-looking models sauntered onto the leave-covered catwalk with cavewoman-styled make up and unruly just-woke-up-in-a-forest hair - even down to the wiry fake eyebrows.
Topshop Unique's wearable collection for this winter was made up of natural looking leathers, chunky woollen knits and big bulky sheepskins, and a lot of green military wool.
The models wore leather dresses and fur trimmed coats paired with thigh-high cable knit socks, and floaty chiffon was layered with leather straps, chunky shoes and antler headdresses (although we're pretty sure those won't be for sale...).

Colour, Tartan, Clashing... it must be Vivienne Westwood. Vivienne Westwood's Red Label show at London Fashion Week was an example of all that's great about the kooky British designer, and what makes her shows so exciting.
Models stalked the catwalk with fluffy, volumized hair and shadowy make up in blazers and trousers which showed off Vivienne's impeccable tailoring. The outspoken designer also showcased her environmental awareness - she sent models down the catwalk wearing t-shirts printed with statistics on world-population and Mother Earth.
As usual Vivienne drew the big names; Janet Jackson, Nicola Roberts and Naomi Campbell were the stars of the front row.

Every year I settle down in front of the telly for another year of great music, drunken speeches and fortunate and unfortunate dress choices. Yes, I'm talking about The Brit Awards.
Lady Gaga is in a league of her own when it comes to red carpet dressing, any dressing in fact, and although she's made it onto my worst dressed list, I still can't help but admire her for making damn sure she makes it onto every worst dressed list out there.
Other persistent offenders on the list include the likes of Kylie, Courtney Love and Pixie Geldof. But this year also saw a few new faces make it onto my list too; Kesha and Natasha Khan I'm sorry to say had to be added, Kesha Sebert for the dead sheep and non-smile she was sporting and Natasha for the mish-mash of bright blue eye make-up, gold beret and maxi dress.

This year's Brit Awards didn't disappoint in the fashion department. We've put together a lovely picture gallery of all of our favourite frocks and the celebrities in them on the red carpet.
I don't know about you, but Pixie Lott in that stunning one-off black dress by Kate Halfpenny gets my vote for best dressed this year! Close runner-up has to be Leona Lewis for that sleek up-do and the lipstick matching pink shoes.

For all you Principles fans out there, you'll be pleased to know that this Spring/Summer will see the return of the label. International designer, Ben de Lisi has taken the creative reigns and designed a beautiful and tailored collection for the brand which will be available in selected Debenhams stores from February.
There to support Ben at the launch held at the St Martins Lane Hotel last week, were Graham Norton and Alan Carr. Not really known for their fashion credentials, but Graham did bring his little pooch in a bag so blended very well.
The collection had a real cruise/nautical feel to it, with lashings of monochrome, navy and stripes, and flashes of scarlet red and lemon yellow thrown in for good measure.

A Burberry collection wouldn't be complete without the trademark mac and the spring/summer 10 collection made no exception to the rules in that department.
The rest of the collection consisted of lots of beautifully delicate looking pastel dresses and draped, twisted skirts in nude colours, toughened up with a utilitarian waist belt.
Textures clearly played a huge part in the collection with a couple of gorgeous fur (we hope they weren't real) coats and metallic dresses and tops that looked like crystals as they sparkled under the lights.
As usual, the show was awash with celebrities with everyone from Emma Watson, Liv Tyler and Gwyneth Paltrow to Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate Olsen Alexa Chung making an appearance

Savannah and Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve S/S10 collection had a real late 80s feel to it with lots of washed out denim, cropped tops, pastel colours and bold graphic prints.
A Twenty8Twelve show wouldn't be a Twenty8Twelve show without a few celebrities in the front row and this season, Anna Wintour, Alexa Chung and Peaches and Pixie Geldof turned up to show their support.
