We're normally used to seeing Nicole Richiesuper glammed up for some awards ceremony on the red carpet, but ever since launching her Instagram account, fashion forward Nicole has been giving us a sneak peek into her more casual everyday style.
Here she is below with husband Joel Madden and his brother Benji.
It might not be the weather for it here in the UK (what is with the snow?), but Nicole is certainly giving us some style inspiration for the Spring / Summer 2013 months to come. Comprising of a few fashion basics, Nicole's look is effortlessly stylish and easy to wear. Match a pop colour bright midi length skirt (red if you want to style it out exactly like Nicole) with a long sleeved crop top and studded flats. Finish the look with cool circle sunglasses. Now all you need is to find a rugedly handsome (?) rock star hubbie and his brother. Oh and you'll need to travel to a sun soaked destination for the palm tree back drop.
His to-die-for dresses were synonymous with bohemian New York in the seventies, Studio 54's dancefloor and some of the most stylish women the world has ever seen, so it may come as little surprise that queen of boho, Nicole Richie is apparently in talks to become the face of fashion brand, Halston after Sarah-Jessica Parker's departure this summer.
Showbizspy is reporting that Halston have approached Nicole in the hope that she will bring a new customer to the brand, and turn its struggling sales around. She is the much lauded designer behind hit boho brands, Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 after all.
"They wanted someone with Nicole's fashion credentials," a source told the site.
"She is the perfect ambassador for Halston and even wore one of their gowns to the launch of her own fashion brand last week (above)."
And there's talk that she might even design her own collection for the legendary brand. "She'd love to produce a capsule collection with them", the source added.
Halston's iconic design (he invented the halter neck, pillar box hat and slinky jersey) was worn by Jackie O, Elizabeth Taylor, Angelica Taylor and Bianca Jagger in the seventies, but the brand has been less successful since his death in 1990.
Nicole has certainly come a long way since The Simple Life.

Nicole Richie has revealed that despite being a mother of two young children, her style hasn't actually
"I'm still wearing 5-inch heels", she explained to WWD. "My fashion really hasn't changed at all"
Nicole also revealed that though she loves clothes, and is a designer herself, she doesn't really place that much importance on it.
"It's not that deep for me, it's whatever I feel comfortable in at that time," she said. "I really look at fashion as a form of self-expression, so just like how your moods change, my fashion choices change all the time."
AH, Halloween. As Lindsay Lohan once wisely said in Mean Girls, "Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything", a mantra that Paris Hilton always takes full advantage of.
This year was no different: Paris was slutty She-Ra, Kim Kardashian was a slutty-but-quite-awesome Poison Ivy, AnnaLynne McCord was a slutty-French Renaissance girl and Jersey Shore's Snooki was a slutty leopard. On the other hand, Paris' ex-BFF Nicole Richie made a stand against slutty costumes, tweeting "Girls, can we all pledge that we will not dress slutty for this Halloween?" and dressing up as a very convincing Jennifer Lopez instead! More costumes included Heidi Klum's usual jaw-droppingly impressive outfit, Nicki Minaj and a White Swan.

I'm always surprised for a second how grown up Nicole Richie is now (especially compared to her ex-partner in crime and OSOBlog fave Paris Hilton) her she is attending the 18th Annual QVC 'FFANY Shoes On Sale' event at The Waldorf Astoria hotel, looking every inch the sophisticated mother of two she is in a long sleeved LBD, with a pair of leopard print shoe boots to spice it up a bit.
Well just as we thought it was all resolved, it's all kicking off again between Cheryl Cole and Nadine Coyle - apparently Nadine was overheard calling her bandmate 'a failure'.
Oh dear.
Nadine was apparently overheard telling a friend, "I have more talent in my little finger. Why would I be jealous of a failure?"
The singer apparently added, "Cheryl got way too big for her boots. She thought she could walk on water and had to learn the hard way that things don't always work out as planned. People don't know the real Cheryl like I do."
Maybe don't give up on hopes of Girls Aloud reforming though - Cheryl's PR team don't seem very convinced by the story. They tweeted, "Well now Cheryl has no friends that should mean no more stories from 'pals' in press."
Nicole Richie's been off the radar recently - probably busy having a successful fashion line and bringing up her two children (cough, Paris) - but she's reminded us just how much we love her with the video she uploaded to youtube.
Apparently to get herself in the mood to go and see Britney Spears' LA show, Nicole tweeted a video of herself dancing to Britney's Slave 4 U - with the message, "In honor of my queen, @BritneySpears - Can't wait to dance tonight!" - and she's actually pretty good at it!
If you follow both halves of a celebrity couple on twitter, you can see some awesome conversations. The other day for example, Joel Madden discovered that his wife Nicole Richie had spent $3000 on pillows. He was not happy about this.
He tweeted, "Do you ever look at your credit card bill & ask your wife how the hell she could spend 3 thousand dollars on pillows? I do. PILLOWS."
Adding, "I mean can't we just go to Target and get our pillows??? SMH"
And: "Needless to say the pillows are going back to the expensive ass pillow store. Hope she likes the Target pillows I'm putting in their place."
Ha! Nicole's response to this? "That's why I ignore your calls".
So - would you have made her take the pillows back?
Nicole Richie is in Paris right now for Paris Fashion Week, and attended the Givenchy A/W11 show yesterday, the lucky thing.
We hear it's freezing in Paris right now, and Nicole looked like she was warmer then anyone else there in a sleeveless black leather dress which she paired with snakeskin platform court shoes and copious amounts of black eyeliner. Trés Français.
Sorry it's not more fun, but it seems like celebrities really are just like us: just trying to stick to their new year's resolution to be fitter.
So they've all been down the gym. A lot. That's all they've done in fact.
It's been a slow week frankly.
Anyway, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Richie, Khloe Kardashian and a newly freed Lindsay Lohan were all papped in their best workout gear, which for three of them included a Hermes Birkin bag. Check out their gym style in the gallery below.
