The Kids Choice Awards took place this weekend in Los Angeles and amongst the sugary sweet celebrity crowd in attendance (Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba and Kristen Stewartet al), Katy Perry showed up in her finest making it to the top of our best dressed list.

With rumours of a recent break up with boyfriend John Mayer, press are claiming that the bubbly popstrel was trying to show him what he was missing; personally I think she just dressed up to look gorge.
Up against the likes of Adele, P!nk and Taylor Swift for the Favorite Female Singer award, Katy was all smiles as she walked away with the prize in her beautiful tropical printed two piece which showed off her figure to perfection.
What do you think of Katy's look? The set made up of cross back bralet top and skin tight matching printed pencil skirt comes from pricey Hervé Léger By Max Azria.
Want to re-create her look for one of your upcoming occasions? We've stumbled upon Love Label's version which is a bargainous £22 all in. Check it out below.

Katy Perry has been here, there and everywhere lately, traveling the world to promote her upcoming film, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, which is a behind the scenes peek into the loveable popstrels life (we can't wait to go see it - it's out on Thursday FYI). Last night was the turn of the must-see expose's London premiere held in our very own Leicester Square.

We're all firm fans of Katy Perry here in the UK, so she was sure to be treated to a warm welcome on the red carpet and in true KP style, she didn't disappoint, standing outside for over an hour signing autographs and greeting fans. Could we love her any more?
Katy opted for a beautiful gold and cream tulle number from Marchesa's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection for the red carpet - doesn't she look a treat? If the Marchesa price tag doesn't suit your purse strings, we've scoured the on the high street and picked out a few look-a-like dresses from go-to party dress destination, Rare. Why not check them out with the links above to channel some of Miss Perry's style?
Katy Perry is no ordinary woman. Well, she is, but it doesn't seem that way when you look at how far she's come in the last decade! The 27-year-old superstar, who was raised on some particularly strict Christian rules, burst onto the music scene back in 2008 with her raunchy hit, I Kissed A Girl. Fast-forward just five years and Katy has had a rollercoaster of a career; she's sold millions of albums, counts Rihanna as her best friend, has dyed her hair every colour of the rainbow, married Russell Brand, divorced Russell Brand, and has become a global phenomenon and an idol to teens across the world.
She may have been confused with Zooey Deschanel in the early years (they did look scarily similar) but there's no mistaking Katy these days. With her on-stage cartoon persona and a wardrobe that resembles a dressing up box, Katy's style can be difficult to pin, but that doesn't stop us from loving it! The chameleon singer is the queen of playing dress up (for her shows and when she hits the red carpet), which has resulted in some amazing, and horrifying, outfits. Whether you love her or loathe her, there's no denying that Miss Perry has well and truly honed her kitch look AND earned her place in the spotlight. Let's take a look at how her style has evolved over the years...
Well, what can we say? Back in 2004 Katy was relatively unknown, which is probably a good thing when you look at these outfits. The 20 year old looks older than she does now in a hideous green printed dress and knee high boots at the Clive Davies party at Esquire House. The barely there makeup and almost mullet like hair style didn't do much to enhance Katy's natural beauty, but she gave us a hint of her gorgeous figure in a white and blue printed dress at the Kid Art Benefit in LA, which was unfortunately styled with pink and silver accessories.

Before she released her album 'One For The Boys', Katy worked as an in-house singer, having previously released a Christian album under the name Katy Hudson. At the tender age of twenty, the California girl was still trying to break away from gospel singing and her good girl image, with varying levels of success. We can see what she's tried to do in the pale pink glittering gown but something about it just misses the mark. However, Katy gave us that first real glimmer of hope at the Chanel boutique opening - a black dress featuring bandage style straps, gold accessories, a floral headpiece and that perfect makeup gave us a taste of things to come!
It's 2008 and Katy Perry is the woman of the moment! Playing host for the evening at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Katy wore a number of dresses by designer Jean-Charles De Castelbajac, including this iconic green-eyed monster number, which was shown at Paris Fashion Week the previous month. With her playful dress and infamous Judith Leiber cupcake purse, Katy had found her niche style and was sticking to it. For the Brit Awards 2009, the singer wore a Hello Kitty encrusted corset by The Blonds, PVC leggings from American Apparel, and some Dolce Vita heels.
With Katy's career in full swing, her performances (and outfits) become more and more theatrical. Obviously there's only a certain amount of judgement we can pass on these ensembles, but it's interesting to note just how far Katy's look has come - she's evolved into a superhero! Her outfit for the 2010 MTV Awards was sexy yet playful as she teamed her new blue hair and acid yellow nails with a super short Zuhair Murad dress and Rock & Republic grey heels; I actually wish she had worn some vibrant shoes instead as the grey feels boring compared with the rest of her look. For the 2011 MTV EMAs, Katy's pretty in pink outfit matched her rolled fuchsia hair. This has to be one of my favourite comic book costumes - the fitted retro print dress and platform heels by fearless designer Jeremy Scott look amazing on Katy, and I love the studded bubblegum leather jacket thrown over the top.
At this years Grammy Awards, Katy wowed the crowds in an Ellie Saab blue crystal dress. We have to hand it to her, when Miss Perry wants to look glamorous, she definitely pulls it out of the bag! Matching her pastel dress with a blue up-do and accessorising with some simple, silver earrings, Katy managed to look both cool AND couture. Having achieved a truly polished red carpet look, Katy couldn't have looked more beautiful as she walked the specially made pink carpet for the premiere of her movie, Katy Perry: Part Of Me. With her now purple hair set in soft waves, the singer exuded Hollywood glitz, twirling in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana prom dress and matching court shoes. The premiere look was finished off with a Judith Leiber cake slice clutch and some quirky 3D nail art. Has Katy finally discovered the perfect balance between timeless glamour and candy-coated fun? We think so.
Is Katy Perry on a one-woman mission to show the world she can do anything? It seems as though every time we've seen her this year she's changed her style dramatically - from flirty and pretty, to grunge and gothic, the 27-year-old has certainly been extra experimental!

Last night Katy bowled us over once more as she stepped out to party in a head-to-toe flapper girl outfit. The Fireworks singer, who was obviously feeling inspired by the 1920's looks seen over the SS12 catwalks, went all out in a long peach slip dress with lace and diamante detailing, which she teamed with a gorgeous pair of cream heels featuring some seriously glitzy embellishment. The vintage ensemble didn't end there either - Katy accessorised with a double row of pearls at the neck, drop diamond earrings, a beautiful beaded headband, and for some unfathomable reason, a colourful feather, which she carried down the red carpet. Perhaps the star felt she hadn't quite pegged the look without adding a little plumage? Who knows...
In true KP fashion, it wasn't just the outfit that received the 20's treatment; her hair and makeup both reflected the era. I've always thought that Katy does retro well, and the glamour of the 1920's definitely suits her. I love the way that her dramatic smoky eyes stand out against her pale skin and matte pink pout, and her purple hair looks at it's best set in soft waves.
With the Twenties influencing many of the summer trends, this is one look that is set to explode onto the high street and into your wardrobes - in fact you may have already spotted an influx of drop waists, heavy embellishment, and ultra glam accessories. When Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of The Great Gatsby (starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Carey Mulligan) hits cinema screens later in the year, we're expecting to see plenty of flapper inspired outfits on the red carpet and in the street. Start working on your roaring 20's wardrobe now!

We've been keeping an eye on My Week With Marilyn in the run up to its release (mainly because we're obsessed with Emma Watson), and it looks like it might be coming to a theatre near you soon - and starring Katy Perry!
Well okay, not a theatre near you unless you're in New York - My Week With Marilyn's producer Harvey Weinstein revealed that he wants to adapt the film to Broadway, and if he does, Katy Perry is top of his list for the main role.
"If the movie works, I would try to make it a musical and I would go to Katy first," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I think she can play Marilyn on the Broadway stage... I think she would be amazing."
Hmm - what do guys think: want to see Katy on stage as Marilyn?

Get ready to pretend you're allergic to something - Katy Perry has just released her latest music video for new single The One That Got Away and it's pretty sad.
Katy stars as Future Katy - with the help of some very good prosthetics - and the video is inter-cut with flashbacks to her relationship with the very, very good looking Diego Luna, which is all great and then... well I won't give it away, but obviously it doesn't end well.

Kate Williams writes...
This weekend the lovely people at ghd invited us to go along and see Katy Perry perform at The O2 for her California Dreams tour - yes it was amazing! Just one song saw at least ten outfit changes - and I'm not even exaggerating (the only way I can explain it, is magic) and her hair went from brunette to her trademark blue and ended on the "natural" pink shade Katy is sporting at the moment (which we happen to be loving).
At the super duper after party hosted by ghd I managed to catch a quick snap with the popstrel (left) who is now officially my favourite and I can now confirm she is equally as gorgeous in the flesh as she looks in those ghd ads we showed you a few weeks ago!
BIG thanks to ghd for taking us along!

October is already flying by, and Halloween is zooming towards us - we already saw Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen getting their Halloween on last week, and Katy Perry's been the next celeb to get out the facepaint.
Katy tweeted this picture of herself (joking, "Be honest with me, do I look tired?") looking totally unrecognisable all made up like a skeleton for a special Halloween event at California theme park Knott's Berry farm. Spooky!

Katy Perry was announced as the face of ghd back in March, and now all these months later the images for their Christmas campaign starring her have been revealed where she channels a 20's style Snow White!
The images, for the Scarlet Collection christmas campaign, were shot by David LaChapelle (of Rihanna-suing fame) aimed to 'bring to life the decadence and sophistication of the time'. Done, we think.
Katy was also apparently spotted filming for the music video for her next single, The One That Got Away, having been given a granny makeover, complete with conservative dress, grey hair and wrinkles. Quite a contrast. Check after the cut for more ghd images.

We told you about Katy Perry's role as Smurfette in The Smurf Movie aggggeeeessss ago, and the premiere was yesterday in New York!
Katy was, as you can expect, her usual understated self.
Or not - the singer wore a white bustier dress inspired by her character and custom made by The Blondes, which was emblazoned with a diamonte Smurfette.
We actually like it on her -
She also debuted her new blonde hair! What do you think of it?
If you remember the cartoon show from when you were younger, but can't imagine how it would look in movie form, check out the trailer below!
