Breaking news! Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz are divorcing!
TMZ reports that Ashlee is filing for divorce from Fall Out Boy singer Pete citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.
According to a source though, "It's really all about Pete's erratic behavior. She really wanted out."
The couple got married in 2008 and have a two-year old son Bronx, who Ashlee is seeking primary physical custody of.

Pete Wentz and his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz took son Bronx to the shops in New York for a Christmas shopping trip alongside Ashlee's sister Jessica and father Joe, who seemed on hand for all form of grandfather duties throughout.
Pete and Bronx have already been spotted doing some secret gift buying for Ashlee, but it looks like it was baby Bronx who was on the agenda with this trip to toy emporium FAO Schwarz.
We can't wait to hear how Christmas morning goes down in their house...

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has got her chic but practical post-theatre wardrobe sorted (Anna Friel, take note).
We're loving the black bomber jacket and shiny black boots, which look as comfy as they're stylish. She's also managed to find a winter hat that's flattering and hides a multitude of bad hair days.
I suppose it's hard to start channelling your character off stage when the character in question happens to be murderous show girl Roxie Hart, but by keeping her style sleek and sticking to black, Ashlee manages it without reverting to fishnet stockings off stage.

Ashlee and Jessica Simpson were both present and correct at the debut of Ashlee's broadway performance in Chicago as Roxie Hart.
You have to admit, it seems impossible that two sisters could look quite so different - Jessica's curvy blonde perma tanned looks are in direct contrast to super-slim Ashlee's pale skin and dark hair.

Ashlee Simpson looked rather pleased/hysterical to reach the end of her first performance as Roxie Hart Broadway's Chicago yesterday.
After getting kicked off Melrose Place for...well not being very good at acting, Ashlee was thrilled to land this plum role, which she first performed in London.
The Jury's still out on whether she was actually any good, but husband Pete Wentz and sister Jessica Simpson were on hand on the opening night to lend their support.

Jessica Simpson was quite the fan of Melrose Place when sister Ashlee was a star, but appears to have changed her mind since Ashlee's recent firing.
Despite claims that Ashlee was 'embarrassingly bad' an actor, Jessica has obviously taking her sacking to heart, Tweeting "CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with,but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press."
Meanwhile on-set insiders told US Weekly that Melrose Place producers hired Ashlee because "they needed a good name to help create buzz. But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.
"She's the worst actress, but nobody will tell her." Sounds like someone has a bad case of sour grapes in the Simpson household...

Pete Wentz has rather grandly announced that he wants to have a 'soccer team' worth of children.
Poor Ashlee Simpson, she's only just popped one sprog out and now he wants her to do it again.
Talking to People magazine, Pete said "Everything is awesome about being a dad. Eventually we want to be able to have a soccer team. The best part for me now is that I think for the first 9 months mom is so essential, When they start hanging out with dad more you're like, 'Wow I feel like a dad.' You go to music class and do fun stuff together, it's cool."
Yep, cool. We're sure that's exactly how Ashlee would describe the trials and tribulations of childbirth... nice to see such a hands-on Hollywood dad though...

Do you remember when Ashlee Simpson was Jessica Simpson's much plainer younger sister? Nope? Well neither do we.
As she celebrated her 25th birthday with Jess and her fiancé Pete Wentz at the Wet Republic Pool in Las Vegas she looked positively smoking and trilby - and don't forget this is mere months after the birth of her first child.
Jessica's keeping it relatively low key, but she gets kudos for turning up at all after her recent dumping/lost dog trauma. She's even managed a smile - now that's sisterly love.

Ashlee Simpson is beginning to sound like a nightmare little sister. Talking to Redbook magazine, she spills that sister Jessica is getting broodie. "She's always saying, 'Oh I want a baby!" When asked if she got jealous of her big sister's new single status she responded, "I really don't."
Meanwhile, Ashlee, who at 24 is married with a child also started waxing lyrical about the joys of motherhood. "Being a mom's so empowering and incredible. I'm one of those people who believes that life brings things to you at a certain time for a certain reason, and if you just go with it, that's where the best moments come from."
We bet Jessica's about ready to reach for a tub of ice cream to drown her sorrows in after reading that. Or get back together with Nick Lachley.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is certainly looking good post-pregnancy. In an interview with the Today Show, Ashlee looked demure and a bit goth, sporting red hair, plum read lips and looking about as different from her sister Jessica as it's possible to get.
Ashlee's ability to bounce back from childbirth is no surprise given her newly revealed super power. Giving a bit too much information in a recent interview, Ashlee claimed that later stages of her pregnancy with baby Bronx Mowgli she remained incredibly dexterous and could even do the splits when she was about to pop. She also added "I could put my leg over my head still. I used to be a ballerina."
What a pleasant thought.
