Is Alexa Chung one of your style heroes? Yes, me too. There's something about the model and TV presenter and her dress sense, in that she manages to look super well put together, whilst simultaneously looking like she just rolled out of bed and threw things on and by chance, they happen to look great.
Whatever her secret is (I'll find out one day...) I won't deny that I take regular inspiration from her daily wears. With that in mind, I'm ever-thankful for her Instagram activity, which provides me with regular insights into her style selections. So what was it today?

Leather. And lots of it. The fashion world's obsession with leather is here to stay, and if anyone can pull it off from head to toe, it's you know who. Matching fitted skinny leather jeans with zip detail, slouchy stripe jersey top, a pair of quite dazzling ankle boots and a casually shrugged on studded leather jacket, this is a prime example of great style from Alexa.

Oh to be young, beautiful and famous!
Whilst many of us have been feeling full of colds recently (not to mention stuffed with Christmas dinners and nursing hangovers on New Years Day) Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldof and co. packed their fashionable bags and retreated to warmer climates at the end of December. Not content with jet setting to the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico and having the time of their lives, our favourite celebrity gang have continuously posted photos of themselves across Twitter and Instagram. Jealous? Us? Never...
From drinking miniature bottles of alcohol on the plane and posing in the sea, to dressing up in each others clothes (WARNING: once you've witnessed Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw in Alexa Chung's dress, coat and heels, it cannot be unseen!) we love having a cheeky glimpse into these ladies lives. If you're thinking of heading out for some Winter sun this month, we've put together a holiday style scrapbook below to inspire you. Can we come too?
Top to bottom ASOS mix and match high waisted bikini £16, ASOS half frame keyhole sunglasses £12, Boy by Band of Outsiders cotton shirt £104, Orelia heart necklace £10.
Top to bottom South espadrille wedges £15, Yves Saint Laurent rouge volupte shine lipstick in fuschia excess £24, Accessorize simple hoop earrings £2, Topshop cream floral crochet cover up £65, House of Holland Peggy sunglasses £150.
If we're going to take some style inspiration from anyone, it might as well be this year's British Fashion Award winner who was named this year's Style Icon. For Tuesday night's awards, Alexa Chung opted for a black large-scale lace dropped waist dress, sheer shoe boots and miniature box bag. What do you make of her winning look?

The awards, which were presented by Gemma Arteton and Nick Grimshaw, celebrate everything fashion with Cara Delavigne walking away with Model of the Year Award and Stella McCartney winning Designer of the Year. Alexa's award, which is voted for entirely by the public, recognises a stylish individual who most embodies the spirit of London and becomes an international ambassador for the capital as a leading creative fashion destination.

For ever popular Alexa, this is the third time she's been given the British Fashion Award for her stylish credentials, and she remains it's only winner of the British Style Award since it began in 2010. What do you make of her look? Shop our high street picks to steal her style above.
Yes, we thought Halloween was last month too. It seems Alexa Chung is getting into the spooky spirit of things a bit late this year, or perhaps she's just getting all inspired after a visit to Einstein's grave (as you do??). Quirky model Alexa tweeted the below snap with no words. She must have felt like it spoke for itself.

Whether it's timely or not, we're taking some stylish inspiration from good old Alexa and at times like this, we're glad she's open to sharing her novel trips to weird places online. Here Alexa's working, quite aptly, the Gothic trend which we all know is OSO hot for Autumn / Winter 2012, so how is she doing it? Well the ingredients are quite simple really; bag yourself an LBD with sheer paneling, team with contrasting Dr Martens, add slouchy socks, a messy hair do and some dark shaded lipstick and you've got the look nailed so to speak.
Why not try it for yourself with our top product picks above?
This snap which Alexa Chung innocently tweeted yesterday has sparked a very heated debate here in the OSO office. To dungaree? Or not to dungaree? The question on everyone's lips. Clearly Alexa is in the first camp. The model, who has spent lots of her time stateside of late, tweeted the above pic which was taken just before an appearance on Anderson Live, an American chat show apparently.

See by Chloe Trouser dungaree £220, Orla Kiely Cream Pleat Collar Blouse £210, boohoo.com Kimbra Black Pointed Heels £20, Topshop Crown Bead Ring Stack £8.50, Laura Mercier's crème smooth foundation £41.50, YSL Blush Radiance £31, Topshop Kohl in Saddle £4.
Alexa, who's style shows no sign of influence from the yanks, is channelling her usual brand of preppy quirky cool with the pair of formal dungarees, a billowing cream shirt, a few stacking rings and contrast toe cap heels. What do you make of her look?
If you're in the yes to dungarees camp (I am, others in the office aren't, I'm not naming names), we've shopped the elements of her look above. If you're not, why not?

We do love Alexa Chung on Twitter. In fact we think we prefer her on Twitter, than we do in real life. She seems to use the social networking platform as a way of showing us her funny, can-take-a-joke and doesn't take life too seriously side. Take this snap below for example; Alexa tweeted this pic of herself with the tag line "Gone Fishing" on a visit (we're guessing) to one of those notorious New York fish markets. Quite the joker.

Topshop Off White Dip Dye Cover Up £24, Topshop Bright Jelly Sunglasses £16, Rachel Ruddick Leather Shopper £210, Oasis Heart Necklace £8.
Something else she re-tweeted, which we must share is below, which made us literally LOL.

So what do you make of Alexa's Twitter style? We're firm fans on many levels including what Alexa is wearing on her trip to the fish markets. If you like it too, shop her look above.
Whether she's dressed up or down, there's no denying Alexa Chung's impact on our style choices. Mulberry adore her even though she doesn't brush her hair and we're not about the argue with the bag oracles. It's those huge eyes and 'couldn't care less' attitude that we love. She turns up to red carpet events looking like she's spent the afternoon in the pub and we want her look.
Want her look? Well it's probably one of the easiest looks to recreate. It's cute and grungy all at once (very Kate Moss circa 1995). Avoid combing your hair all day, throw on twice as much black eyeliner as you usually would and pick out a couple of these pieces:
You need some biker boots to go with your pretty tea dress. These are by Guess and they're £79.
And you'll obviously need a tea dress - this butterfly tea dress from Oasis is ideal. It's £50 and a lot more interesting than florals.
It's still nippy outside, finish off your look with a leather jacket and you have the perfect Alexa look (this one is MANGO and it's £189.99). Mix and match with floral dresses and messiness of hair as you desire.
Alexa Chung is in Australia right now, very, very jetlagged, according to her twitter feed.
She's hiding it quite well here though, at the photocall for 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty, the event for which she is currently in the land down under promoting.
Style icon Alexa wore a tweed checked dress (tweed will be huge this winter) with shiny black brogues. Like her look? Get it with our picks above.
Topshop KLUE Shiny Black Lace Up Brogues, £40

Sad news this morning, Alexa Chung and her boyfriend of four years Alex Turner have broken up!
Not long ago the presenter said in an interview that the Arctic Monkeys frontman was the "greatest love of her life", but apparently they have grown apart.
"Things haven't been going well and they haven't seemed like a couple for the past few weeks. At Glastonbury festival, they barely said a word to each other," said a source.
The source added, "They want to stay friends so it's best to split now. They've been through a lot together and all their friends are sad they've called time as a couple."
That's it. We no longer believe in love.

Alexa Chung might have been with boyfriend Alex Turner for four years now, but it doesn't seem like she's in a rush down the aisle yet, despite calling him "the love of her life".
Asked by Vogue whether a wedding could be in the near future, Alexa said, "I don't know. I feel like I've had my wedding day so many times, getting all dressed up for all these events."
She added, "That time I dressed up for the Met Ball in New York in Phillip Lim was seriously one of the best nights of my life."
Yes but it's not a wedding is it? Alexa was also asked if she had thought about kids yet, to which she replied, "Hmm, I dunno about that. They're a little boring, aren't they?"
Yes.
