Beauty Spot: Nails Inc Feathers Effect polish

Like us, we know that you're big fans of nail art (and more importantly, what the celebrities are wearing on their talons). nails inc are one brand in particular who we love to watch, and who the celebs seem to adore just as much as we do! After announcing model and British Fashion ambassador, Poppy Delevingne, as the new face of their enterprise, we knew it would only be a matter of time before something beautiful happened at nails inc towers...and we were right.

Introducing the hottest beauty product since nails inc's leather varnish *drum roll please* the Feather Effect polish!

feathernailvarnishnailsinc.jpg

The brand new range of limited edition polishes features feather like particles that are blended in various pastel hues. nails inc describes them as, "the perfect way to migrate from winter to spring", and we couldn't agree more. Available in 4 different shades (Cornwall, Chester, York, Edinburgh) the feather effect requires two - three coats for a full coverage effect like the shots above.

If you want to get your hands on the latest beauty craze from nails inc, we suggest you hurry - Cornwall has already sold out! Looks as though Poppy's pal Alexa Chung and her leather varnish have got some competition...

Lily Allen's festive nail art

When you finally collapse on the sofa this afternoon (after you've finished wrapping those last few panic-bought gifts and before you start heating up the mulled wine) why not treat yourself to a festive manicure? We can't think of a better way to count down to Christmas!

Whether you rock something subtle like a glittery topcoat or you fancy going all out with cute characters, you'll find a whole host of inspiration on Lily Allen's twitter feed. We're always on the look out for which celebs like to dabble in a little nail art and it seems as though Mrs Cooper has been well and truly bitten by the trend! The woman behind the singers ever-changing nails is celebrity manicurist Michelle Humphrey, an extremely talented nail artist who has previously polished everyone from Lana Del Ray to Olivia Palermo.

Lily indulged in not one but two seasonal talon treats this month, opting for a dark midnight blue with snowflake detail at the start of December and an extremely cute set of Christmas characters just in time for the big day. Which set do you prefer? Let us know in the comments and take a look at some of our favourite festive polishes below!

Lipstick alert! The celebs rock colourful pouts at the Miu Miu SS13 show

celebritieslipstick2012.jpg
As Miu Miu prepared to present their SS13 collection at Paris Fashion Week today, our gaze was firmly fixed on the celebrities taking up the front row; this had to be one of the hottest, youngest fashion pack yet! Our favourite lady of the moment, Emma Stone joined fellow actresses Amanda Seyfried and Dianna Agron on the FROW and I think you'll agree all three celebs looked stunning.

Amanda has come a long way since her Mean Girl days - check out those vamp-tastic lips! Her shimmering plum coloured pout looked sexy and fashionable against her alabaster skin. Teamed with super sleek hair, elegant bronze eyes and very well groomed brows, Amanda looked grown up and perfectly at home on the front row.

Dianna on the other hand opted for a sweet Sixties style that wouldn't have looked amiss on the catwalk! She chose to wear a lightly frosted, rosy pink lipstick and minimal blush, ensuring that all eyes were on hers! The Glee star rocked the iconic Twiggy style eye makeup and a typical Sixties bouffant, gently backcombed with the front section of her hair swept over to one side.

Last but by no means least was Emma, who looked to be the definition of class with her 1920's inspired soft curls. I love that the Amazing Spiderman actress didn't use a gloss lipstick - the matte effect really popped against her pale skin and looks as though it was made for her.

It's tough to choose a favourite, but at a push I think Amanda just beats Dianna and Emma. What do you think?

Beyoncé launches new perfume, Midnight Heat

Beyonce_Midnight_Heat_Fragrance_Campaign.jpgBeyoncé may have had a child, but she's still on top working form - she's just ennounced the launch of the next perfume in her hugely successful Heat line - say hello to Midnight Heat!

Described as 'the ultimate evening scent', Midnight Heat is apparently tantalizing, sensuous and mysterious - perfect for nights on the town (although we doubt new mum Be has had many of those).

The fragrance features Dragonfruit, Starfruit and Armenian Plum as it's top notes, a 'vivid floral bouquet' in the heart, made up of Purple Mokara Orchid, Queen of the Night Black Tulip and Purple Peony, which fades down into a base of Warm Amber, Patchouli and Sandalwood.

Sounds pretty nice actually - what do you think?

Lydia Bright goes make up free for St Ives

lydia-bright-before-after-1.jpgThe Only Way Is Essex star Lydia Bright is famous for a show about girls who are usually plastered in two inches of make up, and although she is the most subtle of the cast (she embraces her natural skin colour at least), we're still used to seeing Lydia made up to the extreme in most situations.

Well until now - the TOWIE star has taken part in a photoshoot for St Ives in Now magazine where she's gone completely bare faced in the name of promoting natural beauty.

Well, they say completely... but we're finding it hard to believe she isn't wearing any foundation in that before shot... Anyway any improvement is an improvement! Lydia explained to Now, "I used to be quite nervous about going out without make-up, but now I like it."

She added, "Sometimes less really is more and if you've got good skin, it's nice to let it shine through."

And she can say that because she fondly remembers her early days on TOWIE. "I don't know whether anyone remembers my first ever appearance, but I was caked in make-up." she recalled. "It looked like I'd applied it with a trowel."

Are you liking Lydia's make up free look?

Shakira announces third perfume, Elixir

shakira_elixir.jpgTwo perfumes isn't enough for singer Shakira - she's just announced another one, called Elixir!

The singer's latest fragrance is aimed at a younger demographic, and sounds quite sweet: it will feature top notes of neroli, white pepper and white flower; a heart of freesia, peony and apricot skin, and a drydown of white cedarwood, amber, benzoin, sugar cane and musk.

"After my first two fragrances, I wanted to do something different -- I wanted to push the idea even further and develop a fragrance that would express my most sensual and exotic side, and Elixir is the result of that," she said. "We worked on the concept of a 'second skin,' a fragrance that becomes a part of you."

The campaign image is above - shot by Jaume de Laiguana in Morocco - like?

Today's Must Have: Beauty Blender

beautyblender.jpgIf you're not familar with it, you might be wondering why we're suggesting you buy a giant pink teardrop. This is a Beauty Blender and it's revere is starting to match the likes of other cult beauty tools like shu uemura eyelash curlers, and the Tangle Teezer.

So why is it so great? Well unlike most other make up sponges, is has no edges, which means no unattractive lines in your foundation application, and its rounded shape means it glides over the contours of your face, as well as getting into every crevice (like around the nose) with its pointed end.

It's used by multiple make up artists and has a cult following of beauty writers and celebrities, including Emma Roberts! "It's my favorite thing," said Emma. "You have to get it wet, put it under warm water and then squeeze it out really well and then it just makes your foundation go on really dewy and nice. I love it!"

Want one? Get it at Urban Retreat Boutique for £14.85.

Jennifer Aniston's epic skincare routine

jennifer_aniston_perfume.jpg43-year-old Jennifer Aniston is still looking pretty young, and all without turning to any sort of surgery, which she is adamantly opposed to - at least according to an insider talking to Now magazine. "She doesn't want to look stretched, so she
has a 30-minute nightly beauty ritual,' they said.

And if this insider is for real, them my god, Jennifer has some dedication to staying young!

Apparently the actress first fills her sink with water and ice cubes and dunks her face in it to shrink pores and reduce puffiness around her eyes. She then gives herself a ten-minute facial massage to stimulate skin cells and help tighten her muscles, before applying Dr LeWinn's Ultra R4 Restorative Cream.

But she's not finished - she then applies a vitamin A treatment from Anna Lotan called Rénova, which she leaves on for another 10 minutes, which she passes while applying vitamin E capsules on to her shins (?) and elbows, before finishing the entire thing by smearing Vaseline under each eye, and then no doubt, passing out.

"Jen's very disciplined when
it comes to staying young," the insider added. No kidding.

Sale alert: Nails Inc Neons and Nudes

nails_inc_neons_nudes.jpgWhenever I think of the perfect nail colours for this summer, Nails Inc's Neons and Nudes collection always springs straight to my mind, and it's just got gotten even better because we just spotted it on sale!

Managing to combine the subtle, classic elegance of nudes with this seasons hottest, most vibrant neon hues, the set of six minis has something for absolutely everyone. The colours - (Notting Hill Gate (neon pink), Portobello (neon coral polish), Westbourne Grove (neon yellow / orange), Jermyn Street (taupe), Porchester Square (mushroom) and Cadogan Square (camel) - are all really strong on their own, so they look great in simple block colours, but they also compliment each other really well so it's easy to play around with them to create some really pretty nail art, like this:

IMG_3558-edited.jpg

The set is usually £22 but right now is £15 at ASOS.com. Snap it up now.
