Alexa Chung, we've missed you! Miss Chung's not been around much of late, and the fashion world's been bereft without her maverick approach to fashion to take inspiration from.
This is a great example of how to do the preppy look a) if you're bored of brogues or b) if you're worried you'll look too much like a boy. The blouse and bow combo are super cute, and we love, love, love the shoes.
She looses minor style points for having the pocket of her slightly-too-distressed denim shorts sticking out, but we think we can forgive that minor infraction when the rest of the outfit is just so darn adorable.

With boyfriend Alex Turner on tour with the rest of the Arctic Monkeys, it was down to Alexa Chung to play gooseberry in London the other night, as she went for dinner in Soho's Quo Vadis with Lily and Alfie Allen, Jaime Winstone and Sam Cooper.
Covered up in a chunky knit cardigan, Alexa looked marginally less skinny than late (even commenting on her Twitter status earlier in the week 'now eating pasta cos everyone keeps telling me i'm wasting away..def not a good look :(').
Not sure if couple's night panned out quite the way Alexa had hoped. Not only did she have to play gooseberry to the Allen siblings and their other halves, but the evening ended with Jaime Winstone getting arrested for drink driving (see below). We bet Alexa can't wait to hot-foot it back to the Big Apple.

A Burberry collection wouldn't be complete without the trademark mac and the spring/summer 10 collection made no exception to the rules in that department.
The rest of the collection consisted of lots of beautifully delicate looking pastel dresses and draped, twisted skirts in nude colours, toughened up with a utilitarian waist belt.
Textures clearly played a huge part in the collection with a couple of gorgeous fur (we hope they weren't real) coats and metallic dresses and tops that looked like crystals as they sparkled under the lights.
As usual, the show was awash with celebrities with everyone from Emma Watson, Liv Tyler and Gwyneth Paltrow to Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate Olsen Alexa Chung making an appearance

Getting comfortable on the 2nd row at Twenty8Twelve, I was thrilled to discover I was sat directly opposite two of my fashion heroes - Anna Wintour and Alexa Chung.
Since the show on Monday, it's been reported, not by us I'd like to add, that Anna was really unimpressed to be sat next to the likes of Alexa, showing her distain by turning her back to her and scowling lots.
In actual fact, awaiting the show, the two seemed engrossed in conversation, probably discussing what happened last night in Eastenders (Sam's back - it's worth watching.) or something equally as pressing.
Anna seemed to be enjoying the pre-show chat though, actually cracking a smile every now and again. And it was only when the music started, the trademark sunglasses came out. And of course it was now that the photographers went crazy.
Ahh, well, Fashion Week wouldn't be complete without an Anna Wintour miserable story. Has anyone ever thought she might just not like smiling?
Alexa Chung seems to have gotten over the initial horror of turning up at the Philip Lim show in the same dress as Leighton Meser, and was back on track with an embroidered frock at the Marchesa show.
However, it has to be said, she's been looking rather skinny and pale these days. Maybe she's feeling a tad homesick? Due to return to London next week for fashion week, a few weeks of shepherd's pie and steak and kidney pudding will sort her out. Eat a sandwich Alexa!

Do you remember when the Arctic Monkeys were wide-eyed boys from Sheffield who looked perpetually baffled by their own fame?
Well that's all changed...now he's got an A-list wingman in Puff Daddy and a celeb girlfriend in Alexa Chung, Alex Turner's a proper rock star. We know this because he's grown his hair, he's wearing sunglasses and smoking on his own. He may even have forgotten his roots (the worst possible crime you can ever commit if you happen to be in successful band and from the North of England).
Actually, just goes to show that pictures can be deceiving, because just before getting snapped looking slightly surly, Alex posed for photographs with some fans and signed some autographs. Just like the well bought up boy from Yorkshire that he is.

Slogan t-shirts have long been the A-lister's subtle way of telling the world what they're really thinking. Remember when Madonna wouldn't go anywhere without a Britney Spears T-shirt on? Next thing we all knew, the pair were locking lips on TV. The shock!
We hope Alexa's T-shirt isn't as indicative of future events...the presenter's new life in New York seems to be going great guns, but maybe this is her way of telling us about her secret pain. Or maybe she's been practising her diving skills at the local leisure centre and is really proud of herself.

Alexa is certainly making her mark felt across the pond, out-red carpetting the New York mafia including Hillary Duff and Sean Lennon at the I heart Ronson fashion launch, the launch of a clothing range by Charlotte Ronson, yet another of the R Clan's multi-talented progeny.
In a red mini dress, ankle boots and some statement jewelery, Alexa has lost none of her trademark Brit fashion charm. We're relieved to see she hasn't given into pressure to up the grooming ante now she's in New York and actually brush her hair...

Aw, look at our own Alexa Chung all grown up on prime time US television... There we were assuming she'd vanish into obscurity after her rather awkward TV launch on C4's Popworld, but we take it all back now, the fickle things that we are...
Like fellow British export Cat Deeley, the stylista moved stateside to front a live show - It's On With Alexa Chung, a daily affair which has been billed as a replacement for the now defunct TRL (Total Request Live) show. So far, with guests such as Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson , Ashley Greene and Cameron Diaz, it's been a hit, so it's not surprising that Jimmy Fallon invited Alex Turner's significant other onto his own show alongside Entourage's Kevin Connolly.
While we wish Chung every bit of success, our wardrobes are suffering without the daily pap pictures of her in the UK to use for inspiration, so we hope that she doesn't stay over the pond for too long.
