Emma Watson's unflattering NYLON cover

We love Emma Watson. Over the last decade we've enjoyed watching her blossom into a beautiful young woman who graciously ignored scrutiny over her early red carpet choices and that dramatic hair chop at the end of the Harry Potter franchise.

The 22-year-old has worked hard to leave goody two shoes Hermoine Granger in the past and move onto newer, edgier pastures, like her latest role in the highly anticipated Indie flick, 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' - which might explain why she looks so moody and awkward on the cover of NYLON Magazine's October "It issue". Standing in-between her Wallflower co-stars, Ezra Miller and Logan Lerman, Emma looks, well...a bit tired if we're honest. The actress has tried her best to have an attitude with the popped collar and intense stare, but it's lost in her half open eyes - she's got that angry expression Kristen Stewart wears when she's trying to be serious.

Whilst NYLON may not have captured Emma's best side for the cover, she apparently exuded a confident, devil may care attitude on the set of the shoot in New York, which we're hoping shines through in the rest of the editorial. According to NYLON'S Stylist and Marketing Editor Michelle Reneau, the actress "didn't want to wear earrings - so at one point she took an actual safety pin, cut off the sharp end, and put it through her ear". Rock and roll Emma, rock and roll.

Aside from her expression, what do you think of Emma's NYLON cover? We love the slightly grungy, 90's vibe, not to mention the kohl rimmed eyes, frosted lips and patent skinny belt over that luxurious patterned coat. We've got our fingers crossed for better images inside!
