Emma Watson channels 90's glam

Another day, another picture of Emma Watson sent to confuse us all.

The lovely Emma (who is currently on the promotional trail of her latest flick, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) attended a screening of the movie last night in London wearing an outfit that has us sitting on the fence. We've happily embraced the 90's trend, but there are some things that are best left in the past - take scrunchies and neon lycra cycling shorts for example. Where do we stand on dresses worn over trousers?!

This head-to-toe Dior Couture outfit is beautiful, but I'm not convinced it looks as good as it should on Emma. The gown fits the actress well across the bust and the peplum effect looks great, but the cigarette trousers are too long for her and the cutesy hair and makeup just doesn't suit the sexy vibe of the outfit; it looked much better styled with slick hair and red lips on the catwalk. If the hemline of the dress had been taken up and if the trousers had been a capri-cut, then it could have looked fantastic *sigh*

We've got to give the girl kudos for trying to embrace a more grown up look, but for me, it would have looked much better on someone else, like Julianne Moore or Natalie Portman, who have also worn Dior Couture AW12 pieces this week. I would have much preferred to see Emma in something a little more daring and youthful, wouldn't you?
