Yay or Nay: Baker boy hats
Regardless of our age, we all have certain trends from our childhood that we'd rather forget. Personally, I never thought I'd see jelly shoes again (although I don't mind the revival) or the hideous platform trainer known as the Buffalo shoe (I'm all for flatforms, but for me, Buffalo's belong in the 90's).
In the last few weeks I've seen a hat that I didn't think would ever come back into fashion and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. The baker boy cap has not only cropped up on a number of catwalks this year, but in the last 2 days I've seen it on two rather influential celebrities!
First there was Diane Kruger, who sported an all black baker boy to the Chanel show at Haute Couture Fashion Week. Now Diane can pull anything off, but it sends a shudder down my spine to think of anyone else trying to replicate this look. Then this morning I saw The Amazing Spiderman's Emma Stone wearing a grey marl and matte black baker boy on the cover of British Vogue! Emma looks beautiful with the cap pulled down slightly over her face, looking out from under the peak, but is this really an accessory we'll all be rocking this Autumn? Vogue seems to think so.
What do you think of the baker boy's return? Do you think it's a look best left to the boys, to the train drivers, or is it on your list of things to buy this Winter? Cast your vote in the poll!
