"I was bullied for having red hair!" Lily Cole speaks out about childhood bullying

There's no doubting that Lily Cole has a very unusual look, but it was pretty shocking to read that she was bullied at school for being a redhead. Yep, she's got one of the most famous faces on the planet (and one of the smartest brains) but she had a pretty tough time throughout school.

"I was bullied because I have red hair, although actually, I think I was bullied because some kids bully sensitive children" she said when opening up to The Mail on Sunday's Live magazine. "Red hair is an issue, particularly in this country."

Even with all of her success, Lily has had a hard time getting use to being a redhead and the stigma around it.

"When I'd meet people, I would think they wouldn't like me - that was an actual thought process - because I'm a redhead. It's absolutely absurd!"

We absolutely love Lily's hair. It's gorgeous and makes her so individual. It looks like Lily agrees with us!

"The irony is that now I love my hair... it's a wicked colour to be."
