Yay or Nay? Sarah Michelle Gellar at The Golden Globes 2012

It may be a bit early in the week for a 'Yay or Nay', but Sarah Michelle Gellar's Golden Globes dress has polarised thought on both sides of the Atlantic.

The gown was designed by LA-based Monique Lhuillier and apparently chosen by an unlikely stylist.

Sarah admitted to E! reporters on the red carpet - including Kelly Osbourne who showed us how wonderful blue can look - that her two-year-old daughter with Freddie Prinze Jr, Charlotte had persuaded her to wear the unusual pouffy ink-stain dress.

We don't think it's a strong look from the Buffy actress. Not only does the dress swamp her petite frame (even the Jimmy Choo's are struggling to save her), but it also reminds us of a stray white sock in a denim wash. Saying that, aquatic is a huge trend for SS12. Maybe we're just not ready to full embrace spring yet?
