Vogue Italia pulls Victoria's Secret model pic from website

Vogue Italia have removed this picture of Victoria's Secret Angel, Karlie Kloss from their website after it popped up on pro-anorexia forums and sites as a source of "thinspiration".

This picture of the healthy nineteen-year-old model who attributes her tiny frame to her background as a dancer (and would no doubt be horrified to be seen as inspiration for those battling eating disorders), formed part of an editorial piece on 'The New Body' in the magazine's December issue.

But, in an unprecedented step, Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani has ordered the removal of Karlie's picture from the title's website because of the way it's been dangerously distributed.

She said in a statement: "[Vogue Italia] has decided to make use of its authority to battle against anorexia. Fashion has always been blamed as one of the culprits of anorexia and our commitment is the proof that fashion is ready to get on the frontline and struggle against the disorder."

Vogue Italia have previously campaigned to shut down 'pro-ana' websites and forums.
