Robert Pattinson almost killed by elephant

robertpattinsonbafta.jpgWell okay it's a lot less dramatic then that. Robert Pattinson was 'almost crushed' by an elephant while filming Water For Elephants.

According to a movie insider, "The script called for the elephant to step forward while swinging her trunk from side to side, but Rosie got her signals mixed up. Instead, she sat down on her big butt, lifted her front legs - then rolled over."

The insider reported, "Before anyone could react, Robert slid right down the elephant's back. It could have been a disaster if she'd rolled over on him - but he got lucky, landing face first in a pile of dirt and mud. He was filthy, but unharmed."

How tragic (and yet hilarious) would it have been if Edward Cullen was squashed by an elephant?

    I worked on WFE and I can tell you that the story is 100% BS. Robert was never in any danger because the elephant didn't 'get confused' and almost roll on him. She did exactly what she was told to do by her trainer. Which was to sit so Robert to get down. Which he did, just fine.
