Lea Michelle does Oscar de la Renta for the Emmys

Glee star Lea Michelle got to spend her birthday at the Emmy Awards yesterday!

And although she missed out on the award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series, it was an even more special day for Lea because she got to take part in the opening number (below) alongside her Glee co-stars Cory Monteith, Jane Lynch, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer, as well as host Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Nina Dobrev and Jon Hamm.

The actress, who was turning 24, made a splash on the red carpet in her beautiful, navy silk taffeta strapless Oscar de la Renta gown which with its organza flamenco ruffles on the skirt, brought a nice dose of drama to the event.

Lea teamed her gown with an spectacular Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace that looks like it was made for this dress.
