David Beckham injured, won't be playing in the World Cup

Football lovers and Beckham admirers alike will be disappointed by this news: David Beckham suffered a freak accident yesterday and will not be playing for England in the World Cup this year.

The footballer tore his Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan, where he is currently on loan from LA Galaxy, and the injury is severe enough to rule him out of the England line up for the competition in South Africa in June.

But however upset his fans will be, we're sure David is feeling much worse.

His AC Milan team-mate Ignazio Abate said "He's not doing well. He was in tears in the dressing room, he wasn't saying a lot."

Poor guy, we hope he gets better soon.
