The BAFTA rundown
Last night the stars flocked to London to attend our version of the Oscars, the British Acadamy Film and Television Awards to watch the likes of Colin Firth, Carey Mulligan and Kristen Stewart accept awards.
The big winners at the event hosted by Jonathan Ross included Colin Firth, who won Best Actor for his role as a gay college professor in Tom Ford's A Single Man.
He gave a true-to-form dead pan speech, saying, "'What Tom Ford doesn't know is I have the email in my outbox telling him I could not possibly do this. I was about to send this when a man came to repair my fridge... I don't know what's best for me so I would like to thank the fridge guy..."
He went on to say "An encounter with Tom Ford is to come away feeling resuscitated, a little more worldly, better groomed, more fragrant, and more nominated than one has ever been before."
Other winners included Carey Mulligan who won Best Actress for An Education, Kristen Stewart for the Rising Star Award and Kathryn Bigelow, who beat ex-husband James Cameron to get Best Director for her film The Hurt Locker, which won a massive six awards.
Royalty was in attendance too, as Prince William was there in his capacity as President to award Vanessa Redgrave with the Fellowship, as well as Hollywood royalty in Robert Pattinson.
Last but not least, Kate Winslet took to the red carpet to win our unofficial style award, looking amazing in a simple but effective Stella McCartney black-and-lace gown.
