Nicola Roberts: 'Just say no to tanorexia'

Good old Nicola Roberts is using her role model status to spread the word about the dangers of using sunbeds in a BBC3 documentary. Back in the day, Roberts spent hundreds of pounds competing with her Girls Aloud bandmates to see who could look the most tangoed tan but three years ago she saw the light and embraced her natural colour.

'I tried to cover up my insecurities by turning into a big-time tanorexic,' revealed Nicola. 'I had every product from every range. It filled a shelf in my bathroom and no matter how exhausted I was, I needed my fix.'

The documentary, What Would You Do To Get A Tan? will be screened on BBC3 in the spring.
