Prince William finds himself Kate Middleton-less on Christmas morning

Princes William and Harry took it in turns on Christmas morning to help cousin Zara Philips negotiate the icy road in her heels as the royal family left church in Sandringham on Christmas morning.

Kate Middleton wasn't present, on account of her not being a proper royal until William finally gets around to putting a ring on it. Still, think of all the hassle royal protocol takes out of relationships. Not argument about which house you'll be spending Christmas day at, no need to eat to full turkey dinners in the space of four hours.

Still, the panic over what to buy the in-laws must be dreadful...
