Lady GaGa most googled image of 2009

Google have release their annual list of top searches for 2009, and it turns out that this year we've mainly been looking at pictures of Lady GaGa.

Google spokesperson Marissa Mayer explained why we all want to catch a glimpse of LG, putting it down to her chameleon-like penchant for dressing up: "The one that I think now is obvious but not in the beginning of the year is Lady Gaga," said Mayer.

"She's the number one image search fasting rising term. Because people are always wondering what she looks like. She looks different every time and they want to see all the different pictures and looks."

And there we were thinking she was just being creative with fashion. Turns out it was all just a cynical marketing ploy.
