Lily Allen to perform on Strictly Come Dancing

Talking of Strictly Come Dancing, Lily Allen is the latest star to land a gig as a guest singer. Beating the X Factor, which was also after Lily, the coup was announced by Bruce Forsyth on Saturday night.

A source at the BBC said: 'Lily was wanted by both shows so we're delighted.'

BBC bosses are hoping this latest performance will put them ahead of the game in the ratings war with ITV, which they are currently trailing - this weekend's X Factor show averaged 11.6 million viewers versus Strictly's 8.4 million.
