Leona Lewis punched in the face at book signing

Leona Lewis is recovering after getting punched in the face whilst attending a book signing in London earlier this week.

The X Factor winner was signing copies of her book, Dream, for fans when a man punched her in the chops for her troubles. Even stranger, he waited patiently in the queue for five hours before carrying out the attack.

A witness told the BBC: 'My brother saw the whole incident. [the attacker] walked up there with the book, she signed it and, as she looked up, he just punched her.'

Another source added 'the worst things is that the man was grinning - he thought it was funny.'

Leona was then seen leaving with sunglasses, clearly crying and had to be treated by a doctor for cuts to her face.

The worry is that this could lead to a spate of copy cat attacks, in which normal people start smacking the celebrities they find particularly annoying. It'll be a veritable bloodbath over at the Geldof's...
