Are Gerard Butler and Jessica Simpson a couple?

Oh lord, we really didn't see this coming, but it looks like Gerard Butler and Jessica Simpson might be Hollywood's latest couple.

Despite telling Alexa Chung her could impregnate her by sight (charming) when he starred on her MTV show earlier, Gerard and Jessica were snapped laughing and flirting together at New York's Soho House this week.

A source told Page Six gossip column: 'They were at a table with friends, but Jessica and Gerard, who were sat next to each other, seemed to only be interested in each other and chatted for hours,' an inside spy told the Page Six gossip column. 'They were laughing and flirting and eventually left together.'

I suppose if it gets Jessica over the heartache of her missing dog, that's something - we're not convinced Gerard will be able to stop being annoying long enough to actually put a smile on her face though.
