Paris Hilton's fruitless trip to the airport...

Publicity-hungry socialite Paris Hilton needs to take a tip from Lady GaGa on how to court the press to maximum effect.

When GaGa arrived at LAX Airport a couple of days ago, fresh from a long-haul flight in a pvc pencil skirt and bustier, she had to be rescued by the police from all the paparazzis waiting to descend on her.

Paris arrived at the same airport just days later looking somewhat better dressed for flying in black leggings, a baseball cap and oversized sunglasses. However, with no potential for shock value, Miss Hilton was greeted by one solitary autograph hunter and a couple of photographers (who were probably only there for Posh Spice anyway).

Paris, when will you learn, the only way to keep the public's interest when you're famous for doing very little is to indulge in as much inexplicably attention-grabbing behaviour as possible. Next time there's a photo opportunity keep them guessing and come in fancy dress. Or don't wear any pants, it worked a treat last time.
