Is Xavier Samuel the new Robert Pattinson? Contain yourselves Rob Patz fans, but considering we'd not even heard of the Twilight star less than a year ago, it's not so inconceivable that another newcomer could come in and steal the thunder now, is it...? And so, with great anticipation, we introduce Xavier Samuel, the relatively unknown Aussie actor who's landed a key role in the third installment of the Twilight series, Eclipse.

According to the Hollywood reporter, the 25-year-old is onboard to play the role of Riley, a college student who becomes embroiled in Victoria's (Rachel Lefevre) feud with Bella (Kristen Stewart).

The flick is due to start filming next month with a release date pencilled in for June 2010, so we'll have to wait a while longer to find out if Xavier really does have star potential.
