Oscar dress report: Jennifer Aniston dresses to impress for Brangelina encounter

We've all been there, trying to plan the outfit we'll wearing for our first encounter with the ex and his new girlfriend, only to have it happen post gym-work out in the supermarket. Thankfully for Jennifer Aniston, though, her first public appearance at the same event as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had involved a lot more planning - make up, hairstylists and countless consultations with designers. The end result was a sparkling silver Valentino gown, Jimmy Choo satin sandals, Fred Leighton jewels, pleated hair and arm candy in the form of John Mayer. Way to go, Jen!

With all eyes on the couples, the event was carefully orchestrated to avoid in run-ins, however, according to reports, Jennifer had to make a midnight flit after Brangelina enter the after party she was attending.

Aw, Jen, you should've stayed for a proper fash-off with Ang.
