Strictly Come Dancing's Alesha Dixon to star in 'Flashdance' remake

Wait - don't they know Geri Halliwell already remade it? In her 'It's Raining Men' video? Is there really any point in trying to top that?

Well, yes. So thinks somebody - the same somebody who's apparently cast Alesha Dixon in the role made famous by Jennifer Beals.

"Alesha has been tapped up by LA-based movie moguls to star in a remake of Flashdance after they saw her in the video for new single, 'The Boy Does Nothing'", reports the Daily Mirror.

Wow. Well, I for one can't wait. As long as Alesha remains true to the original, and sports legwarmers and gets a bucket of cold water thrown over her. When she's not wearing a welder's mask, that is. What a feeling!!
