Girls Aloud boot Girlband off X Factor

Well, not quite. But Cheryl Cole did vote against the ever-so-cleverly-titled Girlband after showing them just how it should be done on the X Factor last night. Cheryl joined the rest of Girls Aloud to perform their new single (out on Monday folks), The Promise, making history as the first ever X Factor judge to get up on stage and sing. Next week: Simon Cowell performs Shaddap You Face. Maybe.

And then, after eliminating the competition, the Girls Aloud lot went ahead and partiiiieeeeed! Partied like it was 2008! Oh, all except Cheryl, that is. Maybe she didn't want to gloat. Or maybe she was helping Ashley celebrate after Chelsea's 5-0 win over - oh? What? He didn't play? Shame.

And so the mantle of most glamorous member of Girls Aloud fell to Kimberley (no relation to Louis) Walsh, and what a good job she did of it. Here she was, heading to Whisky Mist in London, in what looks like a Hervé Léger bandage dress, peep-toe platforms and a big sparkly ring on her right hand (possibly to draw attention away from her thumbless left.)
