Britney Spears picks up her sons for the weekend - as jury deliberates in her trial

Here was Britney Spears - clad in pink top and jeans - picking up sons Sean Preston and Jayden James from nursery yesterday.

Well, Britney Spears... and her mum and dad, and what appears to be at least one nanny. But Britney certainly looked the most excited about it all.

And that's just as well: because yesterday, the jury in her driving-without-a-valid-license trial failed to reach a verdict - and so are expected to reconvene on Monday to deliberate further.

The case centres around whether Louisiana-born and bred Britney can in fact be seen as a Californian resident, as she didn't have a Californian driving licence when she was involved in a fender-bender accident last year.

"She is a Louisiana girl, born there, lived there and is going back there as soon as things are straightened out here," her lawyer told the court in his closing statement. But "every significant life event" for Britney - her marriage, the birth of her children, her divorce - occurred in Los Angeles, argued the prosecution.

So, is she a Californian or a Louisian? Do you care? Do the jury? Ooh, isn't law fascinating!
