Yes, Katie Holmes has broken free - free, I tell you! - of the shackles of Tom Cruise, and has arrived in New York for her Broadway debut. She'll be treading the proverbials in All My Sons - and here she was yesterday, between rehearsals, leaving an office building in Manhattan.

Now, the Daily Mail - and you know how much I love the Daily Mail - takes this picture of Katie in a vest, baggy jeans and sandals as evidence that she has "let herself go".

I, on the other hand, take it as evidence that on this particular day she happened to "dress down". It's the American way, you know. I'm just surprised she wasn't wearing a hoodie, too.
