Kate Moss is immortalised in solid gold
And why not, eh?
A 50kg, £1.5 million solid gold sculpture of Kate Moss - said to be the largest gold statue to be made in the world since the time of Ancient Egypt - is going on display at the British Museum.
Called 'Siren', it was made by Marc Quinn, the artist whose most famous work was the Trafalgar Square sculpture 'Alison Lapper Pregnant'.
The statue is thought to show Kate in a yoga pose - Crouching Supermodel, perhaps - and Marc said of his follow-up to 'Alison Lapper': "I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who's the ideal beauty of the moment. But even Kate Moss doesn't live up to the image."
What, not even when she's made of solid gold?!
