Eva Mendes' naked Calvin Klein ad is banned
Doh!
Eva Mendes new TV advert for the Calvin Klein perfume 'Secret Obsession' has been banned from American airwaves for being too racy.
In the black and white ad - which I'd love to show you, but can't as it appears to have been taken down from every website available - Eva rolls around seemingly naked apart from a sheet (well, it worked for Miley Cyrus) while whispering, in true Calvin Klein stylee, "In between love and madness lies obsession". Like obsession's a good thing.
But I digress. Because the reason the ad has been banned is that it shows - gasp! - a nipple. For a brief nanosecond. And that's apparently far too racy for American networks. Especially after that Janet Jackson thing.
"The spot is really beautiful I really can't believe this is happening. This country is so messed up," complains the ad's creative director, Fabien Baron - a man clearly from the Michael Moore school of morality. "It's such a joke, and its quite upsetting, frankly, how hypocritical this country has become. It's OK for children to see people killed by guns? Spreading a little love right now would be a good idea."
You tell 'em, Fabien!
