Cheryl Cole has dinner with Ashley - and without her wedding ring

Cheryl Cole and her formerly estranged husband Ashley Cole dined out at Nobu last night - and as well as looking fabulous in a little cream dress and leather jacket, Cheryl was also basking in the glow of that evening's X Factor launch party.

And maybe part of that glow comes from not necessarily that she's back with her husband - but that her career star is in the ascendant, after Simon Cowell declared her "absolutely brilliant".

"She is one of the best people I have ever worked with," he told the press. To the delight of Dannii Minogue, of course.
