Victoria Beckham escapes from Alcatraz, but ends up in plane drama

That drama being: she was wearing her pyjamas and no make-up. when the plane touched down. I know! Imagine!

Today's Sun reports that Victoria Beckham was "caught up in a terrifying runway scare" with sons Romeo and Cruz when a bird flew into one of the engines of their plane as it taxied on the runway. I know, I thought that 'birds flying into aeroplane engines' was just a myth, too.

"Passengers screamed as the pilot slammed on the brakes and the plane screeched to a halt," reports the paper. "Fire crews were called on to the runway to douse the craft's overheated brakes with foam."

And because Posh was, apparently, wearing standard-issue aircraft pyjamas and no make-up, she stayed on the cancelled LA to London flight "to complete her showbiz transformation while the other passengers were bussed back to the terminal." See? Celebs - they really aren't like you and me.

And meanwhile: pictures have just been made available to me of the Beckhams' trip to Alcatraz a few weeks ago. So excuse the tardiness (San Francisco is a long way, you know), but here were Victoria, David and their boys on their visit to the famous former prison. She's the one in blue, without a shaved head.

And it's further evidence that celebs are nothing like you and me - because I've tried to visit Alcatraz, but the trips are so popular, they're usually fully booked up. I had to settle for a trip under the Golden Gate Bridge. The Beckhams, on the other hand, managed to get into Alcatraz and were therefore clearly able to pull some weight. See? Celebs are nothing like you and me. Well, nothing like me, anyway.
