Everyone wants Michelle Obama's dress

Or just: 'The Obama Dress', as it's become known.

America has gone crazy for this black and white frock on the left here. It's called the "Tank Leaf Print Dress", it was designed by Donna Ricco (don't worry, you're not supposed to have heard of her) for American high street store White House/Black Market - and it costs $148.

And the reason it's suddenly famous? Well, it was the dress chosen by Michelle Obama - wife of presidential contender Barack Obama - for her first big TV appearance, on America's famous daytime show The View. (It's sort of like Loose Women, only with lots of American women talking over each other instead of British ones.)

Cue: lots of speculation over what it "means" that Michelle chose this off-the-rack number; interviews with the designer, Donna ("I had no idea she would be wearing this dress"); a flood of orders - and of course the dress selling out in stores all over the land.

And if you want it, too, you'll be pleased to know that you can order it online here - although be warned: the current shipment date is mid-August. By which time, Michelle O will have been wearing a whole host of other nice dresses you'll no doubt want to get your hands on - although hopefully you'll be able to get all of them by the time she does become the actual First Lady in January, eh?
