Cheryl Cole vs Dannii Minogue: The X-Factor rivalry worsens

Sounds like the hoped-for rivalry between The X-Factor judges Dannii Minogue and newcomer Cheryl Cole is materialising nicely. Or rather: not nicely.

And according to the Daily Mirror, it may have got so bad that Dannii may have had some "work" done to keep her looking as, erm, fresh-faced as her Girls Aloud rival.

"Dannii walked into Arsenal's Emirates stadium for the auditions and you could tell she'd put in a lot of work into looking good," a spy* tells the paper. "She knows there's a younger, more successful, more attractive kid on the block and they will both be fighting for attention. Dannii's face seems a lot tighter than last year and everyone is gossiping that she's had a bit of work done."

To make matters worse, say show insiders, Cheryl is proving to be a natural at this X-Factor judging malarkey. "She has a great empathy for those auditioning because she has been there herself... Simon is delighted with how things have gone," says one. "He is calling her the 'new Cilla Black'. She has that touch that connects with people. She is a natural fit to the show and makes Dannii somewhat redundant."
