Today's Top Buy: Pied a Terre Espadrille

So we've returned to the office after a weekend of glorious sunshine, and what's on the agenda at work? Shopping for the summer clothes we wished we'd had over the weekend - while the boss isn't looking, of course!

One item that returns season after season is the summer shoe with the very strange name... espadrilles. Now you either love or hate (like Marmite!) this shoe. I used to be more on the hate side of the argument, but this summer, I'm considering my first 'espadrille purchase'.

If you're worried about them being unflattering, don't! In the Eighties they may have looked a little more Miami Vice than Miami beach, but now you can find much more feminine shapes in a variety of styles and colours.

My eye is on this pair from Pied a Terre. Looking slightly more like a wedge and with a sling-back and peep-toe, this is definitely a 2008 take on the espadrille.
