Kylie Minogue performs in Paris, wows crowds
See what you're missing, Olivier Martinez? That's right: a very powerful woman in a very strange purple dress.
Actually, Olivier Martinez wasn't missing anything when Kylie Minogue kicked off her European tour at the Bercy Stadium in Paris last night - because he was there in the audience.
Kylie turns 40 this month, and her KYLIEX2008 Tour is set to be the biggest of her career. It's taking in 53 dates, costing £10 million - and including an array of costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier, such as this little slashed purple number, which she opened the show in.
And this, mes amis, is why Kylie became a French Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters for her contribution to French culture earlier this week - the Culture Minister Christine Albanel calling her the "princess of pop, the uncontested queen of the dance floor".
Magnifique. As they say in, y'know, France.
