Joss Stone's first film role requires lesbian kiss, stripey pink socks

I don't know which provides the greater acting challenge, do you?

Here's Joss Stone on the set of her very first film, Snappers, which not only requires her to wear an orange skirt and stripey pink socks while talking to an Elton John lookalike - well, which film role doesn't? - but also to kiss another girl.

"There are things in the film that are going to really push the boundaries," says Joss. To which I say: tosh, Joss.

The fact is, film directors have a habit of hiring pretty actresses and then shoe-horning them somehow into a 'lesbian' clinch at some point during their movie. I am a devoted Woody Allen fan, for example - but can't quite shake the idea that Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz share a kiss in his latest movie because, well, Woody Allen wanted to to see Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz share a kiss.

But hey, I'm no actress. That said, is Joss Stone? We can but wait and see...
