New Kids on the Block first promo pic bodes well for the boys' comeback

nkotb.jpgAnother day, another tired old boyband reforms to make a bit of extra cash.

Except that this isn't just any old boyband. It's a hard stompin', pelvic thrustin', American boyband. This is New Kids on the Block.

(Can any one tell I'm a child of the Nineties? Ah well.)

So, just how have the boys fared since their 1994 split?

Pretty well, actually. There's the odd bit of random facial hair around, obviously (Donny and Danny), one who looks like he's spent the past decade as an accountant (Jonathan), some slightly disappointing ageing (Jordan - what happened?), and then...there's Joey. Whoah!

Now I have to say that Joey was always my favourite as a young, impressionable teen. And...yep, he still is. Gone is the babyfaced youngster, to be replaced by the kind of man who looks perfectly at home in an open-necked shirt and waistcoat. Time has been kind, Joey my friend.

Still, it's nice to see they took a tip from our British Take That boys, and went for sophisticated suits for their first promo pic. Hands up who thinks they're from M&S?

As a BIG fan of New Kids and Take That this is exciting.
Growing up in Boston these guys were legends!!! They inspired me to join a boyband, showed it was cool to be a regular guy, into sports, cars, etc and still get up on a stage and sing , dance and perform your ..u know what off... and all of that set me onto a career path in the music business. Although I never was fortunate enough to achieve the same status with my boyband of either of my favorite all time groups I did get a small taste of fandom and loads of experience with top flight producers, managers and by sharing the stage as an opening act all for the purpose to train me for the next stage in my career. Now I produce, write and manage up and coming pop stars.

The only thing possibly better would be NKOTB & Take That in concert together with a reunion of my old boyband opening up...
